Dr. Susan Marie Mccarthy, MD

My experience with Dr. McCarthy was deeply troubling. I found her conduct to be highly unethical, particularly in how she used her supervisory position to issue sweeping, “God-like” judgments that were not supported by my medical records or objective evidence. These decisions had a significant impact on my care, well-being, and future opportunities for employment. What’s more concerning is that when discrepancies and mistakes were pointed out, Dr. McCarthy appeared to leverage the Veterans Hospital bureaucracy to avoid accountability. Rather than addressing concerns transparently, she seemed to rely on administrative layers to shield herself from scrutiny. In my view, this is a clear abuse of both authority and process. Veterans deserve clinicians who act with integrity, transparency, and respect for due process—not those who sidestep responsibility through institutional loopholes. I strongly urge the VA and relevant oversight bodies to take complaints like this seriously, and I… hope others who have experienced similar treatment come forward.
