Dr. Susan Marie Ott, MD

I have a rare bone disease and was referred to Dr. Ott. At my first and only appointment with her she was dismissive of my disease and symptoms, refused to help me access treatment, and told me to leave the support group I was in for the rare disease. I had to travel out of state to see another metabolic bone specialist to get the treatment I need. I wouldn't recommend her to my worst enemy.

I would expect more from a specialist who spent much of her time with me lamenting technology about the loss of paper charts and not being able to do paper prescriptions. She jumped from screen to screen and hardly looked at me, nor did she develop a care plan with me. She commented things were better without computer technology. I waited a long time for her appointment, she did not develop a long term care plan for me, nor would her or her office get the medication approved for me as it needed a PA, and they (or the UW Medical System) did not follow through. Hope that anyone that see's her, though she appears like a nice old hippy that I would very much enjoy as a friend, might have better results in her doctoring.

Hard to make appointments with her busy teaching schedule but worth it. I have been her patient for 18 years and have always felt that she cares about me and my well being.

Takes forever to go through the review process to see if she will take you on as a patient... months to be exact. Too bad for me that the decline of my bone density from osteoporosis continues as she opines. I think it is easier to make an appointment to have tea with the Queen. Does Dr. Ott forget that she is a physician at a public institution, underwritten by our tax dollars. Better care and service should be the norm!
