Dr. Susan W. Sandoval, MD

Dr. Sandoval has been practicing Pediatrics since 1998. In addition to general pediatric care, she specializes in treatments for asthma, allergies, obesity, eczema, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. What is your patient care philosophy?I believe that parenting is a privilege and yet a very challenging task, so I feel really blessed to be able to help parents take care of these precious individuals. What would you like the people to know about you as a physician?I treat and love all my patients just like my own children. Why did you decide to become a physician?Ever since I was young, I have always liked children. I loved taking care of them, so I told myself that I wanted to be a doctor to be able to keep all these children healthy and happy. What do you enjoy most about working with patients?I enjoy interacting with my patients: their honesty, innocence, unpretentiousness and resilience. How does your work improve lives? Aside from guiding parents on keeping children well and …helping to build a healthy generation, there are some children born with unique and special needs. As a pediatrician, I can channel parents to different forms of assistance that is available to maximize what these children can do and hopefully help them become productive citizens in the future. What are some interesting facts about you?I am the youngest among a brood of 8, and I have a lot of nieces and nephews. I am a soccer mom, spending most of my weekends at the soccer fields. With what community and volunteer organizations are you involved?I am part of the community of Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland and the Filipino American community at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven. Would you like to share about your family?I am married to Dr. Benjamin Sandoval, and we are blessed with four very energetic boys.
