Dr. Susan A Takemoto

Dr. Susan Takemoto
Dr. Takemoto was born and raised on the Hilo side of Hawaii's Big Island. She earned a BS in Biology and a BA in Psychology from the University of Hawaii. She then attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, where she also met husband and partner, Dr. John Bishop. Following graduation, Dr. Takemoto taught at the USC Dental School’s Restorative Department before starting practice in Boulder in 1983. She is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and recently completed a residency in placing dental implants. 
“Dentistry has been such an enjoyable profession for me. I enjoy the art of dentistry as well as the technical side — so John and I both make it a point to constantly update our knowledge of new dental techniques, materials, and methods through continuing education. 
“I get such great joy in seeing our patients’ satisfaction when, for example, they attain optimal dental health or see beautiful cosmetic changes in their …smiles. But I have to say that what truly energizes me is my relationship with my patients — knowing that I have taken care of their dental health, watching them grow, and growing older with them.”
Dr. Takemoto has many hobbies and interests including a great shared enjoyment of the outdoors with her husband through fishing, rafting, skiing, cycling and hiking with their dogs. She also enjoys playing Mah Jong, traveling, movies, and music. 
She lives in Boulder near Chautauqua Park with her husband and partner, Dr. John Bishop, and their two English Cocker Spaniels, Kalai and Kaika.
