Dr. Susan Natalie Thompson, MD

A few years ago she told me I had a cold sore. This missed diagnosis cost me a lot of critical time. I returned for a second look and she again told me I had a cold sore on the inside of my cheek, despite the fact that I was convinced it had gotten bigger. She told me if I didn't believe her to visit my dentist which confused me. Why a dentist? After several weeks, still convinced it was getting bigger I did see my dentist who had me biopsy it asap. It was cancer and I was very lucky to have survived. The cancer had had time to grow, but MSK acted quickly and saved my life. She cost me valuable time and a much longer and complicated surgery and tx.

Dr Thompson has been my primary care physician for longer than I care to remember. I don't recall how I found her, but we have never had any second thoughts or regrets. My family thinks she's wonderful! She has consistently provided me and all my family with excellent care. Her assistants and office staff are friendly and helpful and professional. Actually, she reminds me of how medical care should be in this country: she takes the time to genuinely listen, she answers honestly in a way I can understand, she has patience for related concerns or worries, and she is naturally considerate and attentive. From my personal experiences, these are rare qualities in a doctor. Dr Thompson has never treated me as just a disease or a symptom or a problem, but always as a whole person. Big hospitals don't do any better, and can't take time to do as well.

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Thompsom for 13 years. She is wonderful. She spends time with us, listens and takes our concerns seriously. My child has had different medical issues outside the normal childhood ailments and Dr. Thompson has always been quick to get us appointments at the best medical facilities available. My husband had a life threatening medical emergency and was life flighted to Albany. When I returned home from the hospital two days later I found a message from Doctor Thompson leaving me her home phone # with a message to call her anytime. She is a blessing to our family. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
