Dr. Susan Tran, MD

For a long time I avoided thinking about my experience with Dr. Tran because it made me so uncomfortable I went nonverbal. I met her once and felt like she didn't listen to me at all. I am on the autism spectrum and she seemed to disregard or perhaps even disbelieve that. She whipped out several diagnoses and prescribed meds just after the first appointment regardless of the fact that I felt unheard, like the truth of my story didn't have a chance to come out. She decided what meaning SHE would give to my words and that was that. I became increasingly anxious the whole time I talked to her, and when she asked me what my dad's name is so she could go get him, I froze because I didn't know whether to say his full name or nickname so I needed a second to process. She clapped her hands at me like I am a dog and told me to snap out of it and answer her, which caused me to shut down more, scared me, made me feel disrespected and misunderstood. I was extremely displeased. My dad, who likes to… play devil's advocate when I am unhappy with an experience, was the first to remark on her poor listening and coldness. That says a lot.

Manipulative and narcissistic. So greatful for some of these reviews of Dr.Susan Tran. She truly destroyed my world in less than 4 months of treatment. Dr. Tran truly does not like to discuss options for medications and will only discuss/change or prescribe in a formal appointment. This means that if a newly perscribed medication is not working for you, she will not discuss options or help you until your next appointment. I have never encountered this with my previous doctors one of 8 years and the other 7 years. The most unsettling of all this is Dr.Tran would sooner recommend inpatient treatment than be questioned or admit she was wrong. This doctor reconfirmed the fear and anxiety of irresponsible doctors who perscribe and then are no where to be found if there is a problem with the perscribed medication. Dr. Tran reconfirmed this fear and it ultimately cost me my ability to trust a doctor to do things in the best consideration for the client/patient. Words that come to… mind about this debacle of a situation as unprofessional, narcissistic, demeaning, unpersonible, unreasonable, rude, irate . . . I could go on for pages.

Dont go to her. Ms. Tran is controlling and treated me like a bad child, she took away my Ativan that I was on for 3 years, cold turkey, she did not want to discuss why she did this either. On my last visit she had me locked up for 3 days, she refused to see me after this, by having her secretary tell me that the business is closing ... I see it is still open.

Most difficult psychiatrist I have had yet, and I have had three. She will charge you for everything she can and is very difficult to communicate with. Her office does not return your phone calls or your pharmacists. She will never communicate with you directly even through email. You are responsible for getting everything done that she is paid to do. She is also not personable and doesn't remember any details about her patients. She is also somewhat judgmental. On the plus side, she will prescribe you whatever you ask for. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Dr. Tran has truly been a blessing in my life. After years of inaccurate diagnosis, it took one visit with Dr. Tran to accurately assess my situation and treat me for the CORRECT mental health concern. God Bless her

I have seen Dr Tran for about six months. The office she works out of has friendly and knowledgeable receptionists. I have called many times with questions about my insurance coverage and they have always been pleasant and helpful. I have never waited more than ten minutes for an appointment. She is very punctual. Dr Tran has helped me a great deal since I first began seeing her. She actually gave me a different diagnosis than my many previous doctors and changed my medications and that has changed my life for the better. I can't thank her enough for that. She has a friendly demeanor and i recommend her to everyone

Very unproffessional in how she spoke in front of my son and stressed him out. She never returned call.
