Dr. Susan Leesa Zito, DO

I have been suffering for years , seeing doctor after doctor. I was referred to dr Zito but she is not taking new patients. I will have to continue to suffer . No one should live in this much pain .

Dr. Zito is great, no question. Do not use her services unless she hires better staff. They don't respond and have horrible attitudes toward patients. Awful. The worst I have ever encountered. Find another Dr.

I moved to Florida a year ago and have struggled to find a rheumatologist that I felt knew what they were doing, and someone that listened and cared about the patient. I found her! Dr. Zito is amazing and so knowledgeable that I am already amazed at the care I am receiving and I am learning about issues that no one else has addressed in 30 years of treatment. When she enters the exam room she is totally up to date on my care and very thorough. I am so thankful for Dr. Zito and her staff, who are also caring and professional. I have found a home at Suncoast Rheumatology and expect great things in the future.

I live approx 2.5 hrs away, although its a trip its worth it to feel confident that your Dr. knows what their doing. I feel sooo relieved when I leave her ofc. Never felt that way with any Drs in my area. Thank you Dr Zito

I have been a patient of Dr. Zito's for many years and think she is wonderful and listens to her patient's concerns. Unfortunately the same can not be said for her staff. Her assistant Kathy is rude, never returns messages and if you are lucky enough to catch her at her desk to ask a question she is very condescending. Her scheduler is just as rude and God forbid you need an emergency appt in between your appts, she never has openings. The thought was once she was able to hire more staff pressure would ease and everyone would be in a better mood however this is not the case. I brought my concerns about the staff up to Dr. Zito however she was very dismissive of the issue. I have talked to multiple other patients while waiting for my appts and they all have the same complaints. Why can't she see that these staff members are driving away patients? I know 3 that have left because of this issue and I am considering looking for a new Rheumatologist now myself.

Been to to many rheumatologist and Dr. Zito by far is the best.

I have been a patient of Dr.Zito and have known Candace and Cathy the same length of time. For a short period of time my change in insurance required me to see another rheumatologist for about a year and a half. The lack of thorough care during that time was not what I was used to with Dr.Zito and staff. Back with Dr.Zito and Cathy has been exceptional for their thoroughness and caring to provide individual care for me. Having more than one auto immune disease is a challenge for me and staff.I get the benefit of proven medications to assist me with my conditions. I can always reach Cathy with her returning calls even into the evening. I have referred at least 3 people to the practice after talking with others who are not satisfied with their rhemotologist.These others work in the medical field. So thankful for recent visit due to medication change that wasn’t working I saw Lindsay nurse practitioner and Cathy and received an immediate solution to my change.Dr. Zito always involved… with my care. Thanks to Dr. Zito and staff. I always believe that a patient should take responsibility for their care and communicate with staff /Dr. so they can provide the best individual care for you. Kudos to this practice.

I went to Dr Zito years ago after seeing 4 other Rheumatologists and not getting the correct diagnosis. She was absolutely incredible!! I referred at least 5 or more friends/family to her as well. Everyone was just as amazed as I was, but sadly some left because of the office staff. They could not handle the nurse, Kathy and her the constant horrible attitude, as well as the way Candace's is so short with everyone. I, on the other hand, have been able to deal with them because I cannot imagine going to a different doctor. When Dr Zito went to her own practice, the thought was that it would be sooo much better. Stress would be less, so the staff would miraculously be nicer. WRONG! It got worse. The staff grew and so did their horrible attitudes. They have bigger god complexes than the worst doctors I've ever dealt with (Dr Zito NOT included!). They are literally running off the patients they don't like. I have friends still seeing her in the new office that have called me to ask if… I'm experiencing the same issues as they are, so this is not an isolated complaint. Why can't Dr Zito see any of this? Patients are money, and money is her livelihood. For someone as intelligent as she is, its really mind boggling, to say the least. Very, very sad :(

Years ago, my cardiologist referred me to Dr. Zito. While I'm not a sick or ill person, I have several issues. She has given my life back to me with the thorough testing and the follow-ups. I have never been to a doctor in my life who treated me so kindly and her patience with me are beyond belief. I go in with a list of questions to ask but before I can she's already explained the things to me that I wanted to ask. I love and respect her so much. Thank you, Dr. Zito from the bottom of my heart.
