Dr. Susan Beth Zweig, MD

Competent doctor with personality issues. I find her patronizing and overbearing.

Dr Zweig is competent, punctual and responsive to emails I’ve sent in the past. My only call out is that she can get defensive. She should try harder not just to listen but to understand what the patient is trying to express

Calls are not returned! Does not treat uncomfortable patients appropriately!

Seeing her is often a most unpleasant experience. From the first conference with her, she seemed to want to create an argument. She forms opinions without adequate research. As noted here, she relegates to her receptionist or assistant matters which she should handle as a doctor.

I'm unsure of why the reviews call her cold and uncaring - I find her incredibly warm and knowledgeable. I've been going to Dr. Zweig for years and am so glad I found her!

Ive been seeing Dr Zweig for years, for a minor thyroid condition, though she was recommended to me by my cousin whose thyroid cancer she treated very successfully. I was reading through and it seems people find her cold or uncaring but I do not see that at all. I have found her to be caring, listen to my questions, and help me when I was having other medical issues. She may not personally call, but I dont mind that at all.

I have been using this physician for more than 5 years because she takes my ins. and I use another doctor in that office. Plus, my issue is not that serious. If so, I would have moved on long ago. I agree with the other reviewers who find her cold and aloof. What upsets me most is that she is the only doctor I have ever used who will not personally return a phone call. On the few occasions that I called with a question or concern, she had her receptionist respond. If I had a follow up question, the receptionist would have to ask her and then call me back. So forget about privacy. Also, she makes it clear that she will only deal with the very specific issue she is treating. So, for example, If you ask her about an elevated level of something that showed up on a routine blood test she ordered, she will advise you to seek out a specialist in that area. This despite the fact that she is an internist. She’s just disinterested and doesn’t want to do more than the bare minimum. Lastly, as… far as those NY Mag best doctor awards go— don’t believe the hype as that’s all just politics.

I Went to her for years because of the best doctor reviews all over her office. I think she just has a good publicist because she is a cold, and mean doctor who needs to grow up.

Dr. Zweig is a nasty woman who does not care at all about her patients. She has ice water running through her veins. She is unable to manage patients and relies on the emergency room to clean up her mess.
