Dr. Susanna Goldstein, MD

Dr Goldstein refused to keep track of things and then refused to take responsibility for not keeping track of things and made excuses and out right lies about for example why she would recommend medications I’ve already taken WHILE SEEING HER that I had adverse reactions to. She based her point of view that it was hopeless and that I would never have a normal life on this belief that nothing has worked for me and I’ve seen all the doctors and she reiterated this to me every time I saw her. She hammered me down with hopelessness. How can you be a psychiatrist treating somebody who is profoundly depressed and tell them it’s hopeless? It’s making things hopeless to be in a situation where I’m seeing somebody who is telling me it’s hopeless. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy. It’s called learned helplessness. And the real travesty is that it’s not hopeless. I have done well in the past. I’ve done well even at times when I’ve seen her she just didn’t have a competent system to keep track of… things and that’s a travesty. For example, she put me on vraylar a few years ago. I got so confused on it that in her office she wanted to give me provigil so I could figure out how to get home safely. Then a few months later she recommends it AGAIN. When I mentioned that I was upset that she didn’t keep track of something so essential she lied and said sometimes she retries a medication and has a different response. Out of all the medications one could retry why would you choose the one I had the most adverse reaction to and try it at a time when I was working? It was a total lie and she said it with such casualness. My life is not expendable . Her remorseless casual dishonesty was beyond unethical. She had an obligation to keep track of these things. She was a danger to my wellbeing by not doing so. She viewed me as so hopeless that she was inclined to not care whether she kept track of things or not. I’m was just a dead man walking in her book so why bother? It’s really a crime what she did. It was negligence.

I have been under the care og Dr Goldstein for over twenty years. My mother was also under the care of Dr Goldstein. If I did not meet Dr Goldstein I do not know where I would be today. She helped me enjoy my life again.

I’ve seen dr Goldstein for a number of years. At first she was thorough but then she started not keeping track of things and became fixed on this point of view that I’m not going to get better and nothing has helped me and she felt it appropriate to tell me this every time I saw her. What kind of psychiatrist tries to instill hopelessness onto a depressed patient? It’s a crime. But the true negligence is there are times I’ve actually done well with medications before I saw her and while seeing her she had just not taken good enough records to realize what those medications were so tells me nothing has helped. It’s become a total toxic abusive situation. She has me addicted to amphetamines because she thinks that’s my only option but she is ignoring that the crash I experience from them every night is worse than the illness. She has made me disorganized and profoundly sick these past couple years while she has had me on amphetamines. She doesn’t know how to use the medications. Other… doctors or note have told me this and have said she looks towards the medications that are coming out because she doesn’t know how to use the medications that are already at her disposal. It’s not a crime that she’s stupid but what is the crime is that she is negligent when there are things that have helped me but she hasn’t kept track of it. She needs to retire and she needs to be prosecuted for malpractice.
