Dr. Susannah Kerr Mistr, MD

I am a new patient of Dr. Mistr's, referred to her for cataract surgery. Her office staff are knowledgeable and skilled., and appointments are on time. Most important however, is how Dr. Mistr put me at ease regarding the upcoming cataract surgery. The procedure was done exactly as she had explained it. Within hours after the surgery, my sight had noticeably improved. Dr. Mistr called me at home that evening to check up on me.....her caring attention made all the difference. I will be using her for all of my eye health care in the future.

Dr. Mistr is wonderful in every way. She spends time and does a very through evaluation and what to do to correct the problem! She's very caring and professional! My wait is usually 5 to 10 minutes. When I called Opthamilogist in Kona, it was 4 to 6 weeks wait. I got an appointment within a week with Dr. Mistr, however, that may change, as she just opened her Waikiloa office in July. I would highly recommend her to any one in need of a great Opthamilogist!!

Dr. Mistr is an awesome lady! She is an intelligent, intuitive, professional, and totally caring individual who knows her business. My husband, a farmer, had all but lost the sight in one of his eyes, and the other one was nearly as bad. He had to stop driving the car. I worried about him when he was operating the tractor or using tools such as the chain saw.. To make matters worse, my eyesight was troubling, frustrating, and becoming worse. When I could no longer clearly see road signs, it was obvious that my driving days were soon to be over, as well. At a social gathering, a man we had just met was extolling the talents of Dr. Mistr. What marvelous coincidence that we chanced to meet this fellow! Long story shortened: Dr. Mistr totally repaired my husband's eyesight (he says he cannot recall EVER seeing as clearly as he does today)! When she repaired and restored my left eye, new found vision seemed nothing short of miraculous. The right eye, now repaired by Dr. Mistr… as well, is now also perfect! We only have one thing to say about our outcomes: Dr. Mistr, WE LOVE YOU!!!!

While on Vacation in the Hawaii ( Big Island ) I somehow ended up with "iritis" the first morning after my flight arrived. Just my luck! Even though they were fully booked, Dr. Mistr took me in only an hour or so after my wife called her office. -personable -professional -quick diagnosis and successful treatment -informative -great follow up Office staff were very friendly and helpful.

They should have some courtesy when scheduling patients and plan not to have someone wait for over 15 minutes. If the day is going slow or something happens to delay appointments, a courtesy call should be made to notify or reschedule patients prior to arrival or at time of check in.
