Dr. Susanne Lucille Ramos, MD

I’m currently pregnant with my second baby and so grateful to have Dr. Ramos taking care of us. She is dedicated to helping women and babies. I had a very large fibroid that was extremely painful and debilitating. She encouraged me to have it removed. I waited and tried eating healthy, removing caffeine, acupuncture, etc. but in the end I needed a skilled surgeon and she sure was. Dr. Ramos changed my quality of life after removing the fibroid and made it possible for me to have babies. I suffered two miscarriages from the fibroid and she was so supportive. I showed up at her office at 7:30 pm in tears and she along with her team took the best care of me during such a difficult time. She was so wonderful to me during my pregnancy with my daughter, calling to check on me and eventually pulling me out of work because I kept getting sick. She’s busy and in high demand but she’s extremely intelligent and detail oriented. If she’s late to your appointment it’s because that’s what happens… in her field! Babies come at random times. Once she had saved a woman’s life from an ectopic pregnancy at cottage hospital and then ran back across the street to my appointment. She’s incredible. I just adore her. I’m so grateful for her.

She is horrible. She called my husband after seeing what was clearly a benign cyst on an ultrasound (her bedside manners are awful!), and then proceeded to insist I have surgery to remove it. Never mentioning the possible outcomes of the surgery. I thought I was just having a cyst removed and she removed my whole ovary and Fallopian tube. She is horrendous and should not still be in practice.

Dr. Ramos was rude and condescending. I had a c section and was told I'd never have babies naturally. Well I did, quite easily no thanks to the damage done to me by the horrible surgery she did.

They have called me the morning of my appointment 3 times this year to cancel. Of course every time I have to reschedule, I have to schedule it 3 months out because her schedule is so busy. This is frustrating when I make plans to go to my appointment and schedule someone to cover me at work, only to find out the same day that they have to reschedule. Can they not give me any notice? This has been an ongoing problem for the last 2.5 years. I will be switching to a new OBGYN.

Do not trust this women. She just wants to make money off of you. Get a second opinion before you let her do surgery on you that you don't need that will change the rest of your life. She will make you feel stupid to make herself SEEM like a competent doctor. She's fake. Watch out. She either doesn't know or won't tell you the full story of the consequences of making changes to your a reproduction system. Remember, she gets paid to do surgery, whether you need it or not. Do you really need a c-section? Or is she suggesting it to make more money?

Dr. Ramos was always in a hurry. When we asked her questions she made us feel unintelligent. Had a horrible c section experience and when we asked her what went wrong she told us I was just too small despite the fact I never reached the pushing stage.

Dr Ramos is the type of special Doctor you never forget. If I had to choose one person to be on a deserted island with, I would pick her! She is SOOOOO knowledgeable that any problem you could run by her is met with comforting assurance and assistance. She is smart and notices things straight away. She is there by your side as much as humanly possible and her office staff are the best. I love her so much and will miss her now that I am through having kids.

I saw Dr. Ramos while pregnant. She initially told me that genetic screening was optional (as it always is). So I declined it. At my next appointment, she was upset that I hadn’t gotten the screening done. I reminded her that it was optional and I opted out of it. At that point she said it was NOT optional and I needed to go get it done IMMEDIATELY. Confused, I went to get it done. They drew SEVENTEEN vials of blood. SEVENTEEN. I immediately changed to a different doctor. After my daughter was born, I was billed $800 for that screening. Because it was labwork that I never wanted, tried to decline, was lied to about, and never even saw results for, my insurance took care of it and I didn’t have to pay. Ramos specifically said it was optional and then suddenly it was mandatory? In addition, during checkups, she spent maybe 5 minutes tops with me and only spoke to my husband and not me, as if I was stupid. Fearing my birth experience with her, I found a wonderful practice with whom I had… NONE of the fears or concerns I had with Dr. Ramos.

Simple protocols (post csection with Dr. Ramos) were not followed for my daughter which caused lifelong consequences. In addition, she has had to deal with pelvic adhesions post csection and a uterine scar defect in her uterus which she is going to get fixed shortly with another specialist. The reason I write this review is that yesterday my daughter requested medical records and her staff continues to be unfriendly and rude. In fact, one hung up on her yesterday. This is not the way to treat anyone, especially a patient who has (for the past two years) had to deal with multiple issues from her csection with Dr. Ramos. I would suggest that if they even acknowledge this review, they call and apologize to my daughter beforehand.
