Dr. Sushil Kumar Ahlawat, MD

During our last telehealth appointment, Dr. Ahlawat failed to contact me. I had to reach out to both him and the DOC several times before I was called back. I was concerned that this would be the case during our most recent appointment as he was already half an hour late. For that reason, I once again reached out to the DOC to advocate for myself. Fortunately, we were able to start our telehealth appointment in a somewhat timely manner. However, during our appointment, Dr. Ahlawat claimed that my test results had no significant clinical findings despite pathology noting reactive gastropathy. If not for my own advocation, I feel that Dr. Ahlawat wouldn’t have mentioned my diagnosis. For those who don’t know, reactive gastropathy is chronic and can be erosive. Causes include bile reflux, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, alcohol, and smoking. Considering my medical history, I don’t know why this diagnosis wasn’t considered a significant clinical finding. If left untreated,… reactive gastropathy can lead to ulcers or bleeding in the stomach. Furthermore, Dr. Ahlawat has a pattern of disrespecting my time. Aside from the aforementioned incidents, his Scheduler disregarded my autonomy and scheduled a same-day surgery without any prior consultation from me. Dr. Ahlawat was an hour late to the aforesaid surgery.

Few doctors I've known listen & understand the patient, Dr. Ahlawat is different. He is empathetic. But remember, your health is your responsibility first, then your doctors along with You. God Bless.
