Dr. Susie Chang, MD

I have a botched eye surgery - from Sept 11, 2013. Blood work that showed a low platelet count was ignored just prior to surgery. Chang warns me after the fact "stop taking aspirin". I am sent home with a blind, bleeding mess on my hands - no call from Chang for almost three months. I am left to wonder what happened - I have to go to another clinic to have a better, experienced surgeon explain to me her OR notes. Why Chang was allowed to do surgery on any one after she brought an lawsuit on to OSU is beyond me. She is not truthful in answering questions just prior to a procedure. My recollection of her with that crazy upside down mushroom cap she wears on her head - she is looking around at things that don't pertain to doing surgery - instead reading the results of blood work. An idiot. I am not only blinded by this - my eye socket is sunk and I have smaller eye with a different color that does not match my good eye. Any word of an apology? Heck no.

What can I say regarding my encounter with Chang - I am sickened every morning by what I see on my face involving my eye - she blinded me in my left eye - basically mutilated it - cut into an eye twice with a low platelet count, cut off the ciruculation by the use of clamps and sent me into a nightmare. The worst pain for me that went on for days and days - I cannot believe that someone can do somthing like that to me and disappear for almost three months before she called. She already had a lawsuit in back of her at OSU and OSU still let her operate? For what? Very sad when someone can do this to a person and move to Hawaii before addressing me - can move to the other side of the planet - it does not matter - when you do somehting as horrendous as this and run - eventually it will catch up - hope I am around to see and hear it. I will keep writing till I get a response from her - you don't do what she did to me and then just disappear. She had the opportunity to address me twice - once with the head of Optho dept Dr Mauger at OSU and again with a prominent surgeon at OSU Dr. Davidorf. She was a no show with Dr. Mauger - She disregarded the blood work just prior to surgery - I had a low platelett count and it was flagged so - she cut off the circulation in my eye thru the use of clamps causing a major artery to burst and had me discharged the next morning in a daze with my eye still oozing watery bloodlets - she lied in her OR notes about being fully informed. Nothing prepared me for what I saw when I got home. She has a law suit in back of her at OSU - I know of another unhappy patient's father because his son lose his eye under her care. If you cannot discuss face to face to me the mess you left on my face you need to stop. Mutilation and a new eye color.

Meeting Susie Chang was for me the beginning of journey into h**l. This person after she mutilated my eye in surgery thru the use of clamps she did not take off till she saw a major artery burst - she lied in her OR notes about being fully informed - I was not - I was discharged the next morning and my eye was oozing watery blood droplets - Chang was no where to be found - till I saw her up at the OSU office and I was in a daze and could not figure out why people were staring - I had once a big blue seeing eye was replaced when I see it - when I got home with a small, color black - sunk in the eye socket eye. I was unable to see my eye when I was getting dressed and could not figure out where these blood droplets were coming from - my good eye - my right eye was out of focus - like someone had hit me over the head with a club - I was in a daze. Nine days after surgery I call the hospital asking to speak to her as I am at home and my eye is on fire and in pain . I was told she… was there but not to call there asking for her as I was no longer her patient. I was her patient nine days earlier. She is a total idiot and when a meeting was called by the head of opthalmology to discuss what happened to me and why - she is a no show. I have to go to another facility here in Columbus to find out what happened to me in the OR on the night of 9-11-13. With Dr. Chang I always felt comfortable and confident that I had the very best physician helping me. I will always be grateful for her guiding me through an uncertain time.

Chang totally ignored the blood work prior to surgery - I had a low platelet count and it was flagged so. She lied in her surgical notes about patient being fully informed. She ignored my request to hear from her nine days after surgery when I was at home climbing the walls in pain. She called me almost three months after this mutilation procedure to give me a weak description of what took place. The skills for this tha night of 9/11/13 were not there. She blinded a seeing eye, mutilated it by cutting off the circulation thru the use of clamps. I had to go to another facility here in Columbus and talk to a surgeon, to find out what she did. If You value your eye sight - do not see this doctor. A total idiot that night.
