Dr. Susmita Dasgupta

Dr. Dasgupta is board certified in General Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She joined Alabama Psychiatric Services in August 2011. Dr. Dasgupta completed her residency training in General Psychiatry from Creedmoor Psychiatric Center (New York State, Office of Mental Health) which is affiliated with Columbia University. Her residency rotations were completed at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia University Medical center) and at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center. Also, Dr. Dasgupta served as Chief Resident in her program, and received resident of the year award for clinical and academic excellence throughout residency program. Dr. Dasgupta completed her Medical training from University of Calcutta, Bankura Sammilani Medical College in India where she received a degree in the field of General Medicine. Dr. Dasgupta practiced Medicine for ten years in India before permanently moving to the USA. Her main interests are Mood disorder, Anxiety disorder …including Obsessive Compulsive disorder, mental disorder due to General Medical Condition, Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
