Dr. Suzanne Hanses, DO

Dr. Suzie did a mastectomy on my wife recently. 12:20 P.M. they rolled her into surgery. 4:20 P.M. I picked her up & then went to a pharmacy to get her meds, & then we went out to have dinner. Very little or no pain from the onset & from then on. Scar is as straight as a ruler & disappearing fast. Dr. Suzie even gave us her personal cell # in case of any problem. We were both amazed @ lack of discomfort for such major surgery. I'm so grateful that Dr. Hanses gave me back the love of my life after the last 40 years. Could have kissed her, but I don't kiss or hug anyone but my wife. Thank You Dr. for your skill & caring! Will be forever thankful. R.L. Ginther Lansing

Dr. Hanses is an amazing, compassionate doctor! I was referred to her office a few weeks ago while I was pretty sick from gallbladder issues. I was also at some major turning points in my life (finishing my degree and preparing for an international move) so this all could not have picked a worse time to happen. Dr. Hanses was incredibly knowledgable and reassuring and able to explain to me what was going on. She was able to get me scheduled for ERCP and surgery very quickly. The surgery went well and I recovered quickly. She even saved my gallstones for me because I was curious to see them! A little later when I had my pain get unexpectedly worse, she was able to see me quickly, and willing to order a test to rule out serious problems and give me peace of mind about being healthy enough for my planned international move. She also called me to explain the test results and let me know that everything was good! This has been such a strange few weeks... I am very, very glad to have had… Dr. Hanses as my doctor, and thanks to her excellent work I am now through this incident and getting back to my life!

I had hernia surgery with mesh I was in terrible pain after know the mesh is coming through my belly button and I need another hernia surg I went to her prior and told her I was in pain she stuck her nasty fingers in my belly button hard as she did and said o well your gonna have pain She sucks beware after she does her surgery on you she treats you like crap! This lady needs to be banned

Love Dr Hanses. She listens, has great bedside manners and it doesn’t hurt that we like similar clothing and the Caribbean. Just had my follow up appointment with Dr Walling. All clear and no more Bezoar growths. Thank you for taking the “alien” out!

Hands down the best doctor I have ever come across, which is saying a lot because I've had cancer twice.

Prior to bilateral mastectomy Dr. Hanses said she was going to have staff perform a nerve block on my chest. I declined due to cervical neck complications and existing peripheral neuropathy. She wheeled me into surgery and performed the nerve block against my consent. After 6 months my chest is still numb. The medical records at Mclaren Greater Lansing do not contain documentation of the nerve block. Yet my insurance company was billed for the nerve block. Dr. Hanses does not have any ethical standards period! No means no.

She is the best Doctor I have ever come across, friendly and caring.

She did my breast cancer removal; Lumpectomy. I found out later that a 'drain tube' is supposed to be inserted (look it up online yourself... does every case require it... ? I was told yes.) Anyways I had none. 4 weeks after surgery, I developed Hematoma, a back up of old blood that pools inside the breast... that is supposed to have a way to drain out. My breast developed a lump & so I went in to her office. I was sent home, nothing was done about it. While I was at home, the wound burst open & reddish brown blood went everywhere, a lot of it, I was covered in blood! Scary!!! I had to stick 3-4 long, thick, kotex pads (taped together) into the cup of my bra daily. Long story short..... the blood drained for over a month & Hanses taking no action with it, except telling me that it will probably drain for 'another' month. The wound turned black (I took pics of it), I fought the infection with raw Honey (covered with a large patch in mornings & Hydrogen Peroxide 'soaked' cloths… overnight. I went to another surgeon at the Cancer Center, & I was put on a strong antibiotic, & then he had to perform a 2nd surgery to drain the breast.
