Dr. Suzanne Potter Mattox, MD

Personality: only business, no small talk. Patient sits on end of exam table, not chair. She doesn't sit and talk on same level, stands only giving the impression she's in a hurry to leave. First reads prior vitals on computer, my written questions are answered abruptly with no follow-up unless asked. Very defensive if challenged; said she has to schedule 15 min. appointments--I never heard of that before. I am looking for another doctor.

She doesn’t communicate well and seems to not care about her job anymore.

Overall Dr Mattox is similar to other Drs in this practice. She is abrupt, to the point and very clinical. She seems to have the less humanistic, more scientific approach to treatment. She is reluctant to make a diagnosis about most anything and refers out to specialists often. She has missed several major issues with me because they were not exactly by the book. She would not explain why she ordered certain tests and the results. Instead of explaining the diagnosis and results she told me the treatment was what she determined was necessary. It gave the old-fashioned, omnipotent doctor effect. I would not recommend her to anyone who desires an active role in their own health management.
