Dr. Suzanne Leona Tuzel, MD

This was my first time seeing a Psychiatrist. I was amazed by how at ease Dr. Tuzel made me feel. She was so knowledgeable! I am so happy I finaly decided to get treatment

Wow...I had my intake appointment with Dr. Tuzel and she was extremely rude and short with me. She expressed zero compassion towards me or my situation and I felt uneasy trying to talk about my anxiety with her. She smirked at my responses and insinuated that I was full of excuses. I am DISGUSTED by her behavior. Don't seek her help unless you want to feel belittled.

Staff is rude, disrespectful, condescending and totally unprofessional. Dr. Tuzel doesn’t return phone calls and was short with me during my visits. Dr. was an hour late for original appointment. I am unable to make appointments and or request prescription refills in fear of treatment by the staff. What a disgrace the way they treat a vulnerable patient. Do not use her services unless you like to be abused

Dont get me wrong she's nice but not worth the price. They had me paying well over $150 if my visit was longer than 15 minutes. She constantly kept joking that I'm to pretty to be unhappy. She would start the medicine extremely low and raise it 3 days later when my insurance wouldn't cover it because she would give me 15-30 and after upping it i would run out in a matter of days. Getting an authorization over to my insurance to get more was a struggle. I would have to keep calling and it would be pointless because by the time the girls got back to me it was time for a refill and I didn't need the Auth! I would be stuck going on and off the medicines each time. This went on for months until I got so frustrated I stopped going. I have severe anxiety and depression as it is and going through all that just made it 10x worse to the point where I ended up feeling worse than when I started going!

She is super big with the whole"milking the junkies wallet" for suboxone thing, In-fact she is a pro.$600 then come back in 3 days, $200 come back in 6 days, $200 give it another 10, $20 ill see you in 3 weeks, Maybe after giving her $1200 it was $200/month. Do you know how hard that is too be Opiate Addicted and spend all this money and not relapse. Coming of a High Tolerance of Pain Meds fed to me buy these DR's.....?? Nightmare. Then a month goes buy you realize you still can't sleep and these miracle strips will not take 6 weeks to make me fell normal, but 6 months. I would have massive anxiety attacks followed buy no sleep that lasted months. not once did she offer a benzo or soma to sleep or to treat my pain that was still there.... I begged her on the 6th Visit a month or so in and she wrote me the normal 2 subs a day with 5mg Valium 30x month, no muscle relaxer no pain control nothing. I left felling like a dirt-bag drug addicted dummy every-time handing her most my… assisted living money and paying the rest back to my friend who helped me and lent me money for the 1st 5 visits $1600 dollars.. I was broke for over 3 months, still not felling better. I would complain the 5mg val per day just is not enough in reality i would run out in 10 days of Valiums. It was not until after leaving TUZEL i learned the normal protocol that my new Family DR started me on that most people get from there dr's. 3 Suboxone 8mgs day, 4 Xanax 1mgs and 3 soma per day to help restore all the changes my body was going threw being a 10 year patient of 300mg oxycodones per day, and this my new DR said was still not as high as most on the xanax and suboxone. GUYS AND GIRLS LEARN THE FACTS BEFORE GETTING CLEAN. PS my new DR charges $155, He said the whole $500-$700 first time visit fee was a thing done 5 years ago before suboxone got popular. The reason it was so much is because DR's were required to treat a patient in full W/DS inside there office the first few days. The suboxone policy and laws changed were a 1 week rx is given so the patient can detox at home, then followed buy monthly visits. He said i should have only been as sick and sleepless as i was for 1-2 weeks tops not months. These are the facts! Sad she does it for the dollar bill i think.

In response to the prior comment i have been a patient for four years seeing her for suboxone. Its $600 dollars the first time and $200 every month. Which is extremely expensive for a sub dr. Coming off any Opioid medication especially with panic attacks you would think she would prescribe a Benzo like Xanax or Valium to help with anxiety. She has NEVER given me anything that works and zero benzo's after numerous trials and errors on different anti depressants over the course of 4 years. Whoever said she will prescribe xanax like that doesn't know what there talking about. I have pleaded with her as its the only thing that works, and the answer is always the same, Try this or that instead..... Like Prozac, trazidone or other random crap medication. I don't recommend her as a benzo dr or even a suboxone dr as the cost is way higher then most dr's ( 200-300 first visit, 100 afterwards) .....

If you're addicted to any drugs like xanax and are buying them off the street, just go to her and she'll prescribe them for you. she takes people, diagnosis's them with drug addictions (which are true) and then gives them 5 or 6 hard core legal prescriptions. so now instead of illegally buying drugs, they are getting everything they want from their doctor and are flying high.I wish doctors would see that they are adding and masking the problem instead of making things better for the people in need of help.

After my 4th visit Isaid enough, she runs at least 90 minutes behind schedule, plus the office staff acts like this is normal. Considering everyone has a schedule appointment why would you be always late, time after time. Maybe there was a sale going on down the block.

Not very flexible after her practice dropped my health insurance. Little help finding new doctor, little help extending my prescriptions until I could get an appointment with a new doctor I found on my own.
