Dr. Swee Lian Tan, MD

It’s taken a while to write this but I have found myself bothered for a long time after my experience with Dr Swee Lain Tan. First appointment, she was rude and talked over me. Made feel like I was making up my pain. After she received imaging it was clear I needed surgery and she changed her tune. Surgery was an awful experience. I was payed out on the table fully exposed waste down and me leg speed to the side. My female parts on display even though the surgery was on my leg. I asked to be covered and she said it’s not aloud could cause infection. The two helpers were male and in their 20’s . I caught them taking long looks at my parts. I feel vary violated. She was rough and rude on top of it. To this day I don’t understand why I couldn’t be covered.

And I can confidently say that I would not be here without Dr. Tan‘s knowledge!! I’m alive today because of her! I had lost most of my confidence in all medical professionals but Dr. Tan has shown me there truly are doctors that still care and want the best for you in your life!

I have been a patient for over 12 years. I am alive today because of her outstanding care. She is a true professional with an excellent education and a genuine concern for her patients. There is none more caring or that I would trust for vascular surgery.

I wonder where the people went who are making some nasty comments about Dr. Tan!? She is down to the point and I totally agree with the comments that are more factual and confirm my opinion and impression of her as a caring health professional.

I have been a patient of Dr. Tan for 13 years. She is the most conscientious and thorough surgeon that I know, and I know quite a few. I have read several negative reviews of Dr. Tan. They are wrong. She cares deeply about her patients, but does not sugar-coat her remarks to make you feel good. She is abrupt and to the point. If you let that bother you, we will miss being cared for by a surgeon that cares deeply for her patient's well being and is as competent a vascular surgeon that you can find. Having had a Aortic and Iliac aneurysm repaired by Dr. Tan, she has saved my life. She diligently monitors my status bi-annually and has insured that there is no further issues with my vascular system. Do you want to be coddled or cared for? If you opt for excellent care, you will chose Dr. Tan.

I have just gotten diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and Rapid Afib. It's really scary. But, Dr. Tan has done a great job of taking care of me and it is way better than before. She has an assistant, or nurse? named Dennis and he is FANTASTIC. I can send a question or ask for a refill and he is ON IT. I use MyChart and he must have an alert go off when they get a message. I'm a bit of a procrastinator, so I'm usually in a rush and he NEVER makes me feel bad. Even if I didn't love Dr. Tan, I would probably stay with her because of Dennis :-)

Dr. Tan was everything we expected...smart, professional, direct, experienced and a great communicator as well as a wonderful surgeon. She has the respect of her peers. Her staff was excellent as well. She gave us all the time we needed to understand her plan and fully explain the procedure. We could not be more pleased.

After much research, I contacted Dr. Tan about open surgery for an aneurysm in the illiac artery. I was impressed from my first telephone conversation and throughout the surgery and follow-up. She spent as long as needed to explain the surgery and recovery procedures. She always talked at my level, was pleasant and very professional. She and her team did such a good job I only had to spend one night in the hospital! Some of the reviews are less than flattering. I suspect they come from people who are basically unhappy with their lives.

as a practitioner she has decent skills (nothing special). but as a person, forget about her. selfish you-know-what after the patient is asleep. behaves like a little brat.

dr swee tan may look good on paper, but she's the most unprofessional practicing physician i have ever experienced in my life & i am already a SR.!!!!! certainly seattle can send us a dr who treats patients in a professional manner.her office team are also as rude as she is!!!! they have the worse attitudes and gossip negatively after many patients when leaving. the team has a habit of personal conversations & arguements. those waiting can hear! their attire isn't even professional>>>> better to be worn at a campground. dr tan has a pompous attitude that is terribly rude to say the least. after surgery, which i suspect she knew would be unsuccessful & numerous unnecessary follow ups....i will never ever return again!!!!
