Dr. Syama Sundari Varudu, MD

Cant get access to her or her nurse when I have urgent question . The front desk people shoe me away. Dr herself is stuck some cultural trap of some bygone era and has no sense responsibility. Tends to blame the patient. Not particularly interested in listening and understanding the patient. I am sure she is technically we skilled but needs a lot of re-training in practice with patients. I am prepared to work with her but she has this fire wall like thing that I can never reach her or nurse assistant. I think she needs counseling and sensitivity training and mentoring for a year. I wish well for her but I no more feel comfortable going to her also there is something terribly wrong with Dignity Health and I suspect they are the root cause for ruining the morale of docyors

As a long term patient at Mercy I have never had a more unprofessional experience. Dr. Varudu walked into the room and made an extremely disrespectful comment before even saying hello. Then proceeded to make unfounded stereotypical assumptions about my diet. When I attempted to correct her, and told her what my diet actually was, she told me I was wrong (which makes no sense). She then told me she needed to examine my knee, which was injured. I told her I had just seen an orthopedic surgeon for it the day before and it was not necessary. She insisted however and told me I needed to take my pants off for her to examine my knee making me feel very uncomfortable. I told her that wasn’t necessary. She then proceeded to tell me the orthopedic surgeon (who is clearly more experienced in regards to knees) was wrong regarding my diagnosis. Never had a more uncomfortable, unprofessional, and useless appointment in my life.
