Dr. Sydney William King, MD

I was assigned to Dr. King because I went to the ER w/irregular HB and high BP. (And, I haven't been in a hospital overnight since my last pregnancy!) I found him to be very knowledgable regarding A-afib and its dangers regarding stroke. My complaint is that he didn't want to hear about the stress I've been under lately or anything else... including my daily cardio workouts. He insisted that I've always had A-Fib and my Cardiologist up north just never caught it. That being said... I''m Sure he knows what's best going forward! It's just that "forward" will be w/another cardiologist in Sarasota. My husband also needs one and he thought Dr. King is short on bed side manner! Too bad they can't teach this in Medical school!

spent a long time with me explaining my situation and the results of my evaluation. very understanding and compassionate. staff members are superb. easy to schedule appointments and can get in early if I have a concern before my next scheduled visit.

My husband and I are both patients of Dr. Bill King and could not be happier with his level of care. Very knowledgeable, straightforward, and very attentive.

Terrible bedside manner! Laughed off an explanation of a symptom my husband tried to explain and then made fun of it the next morning prior to procedure. Did not discuss a transfer decision made for another hospital/doctor for open heart and would not come back to room to discuss further or answer questions. Did not stop transfer upon our request....another doc had to ..which delayed an additional day AND did not put a stop to patient receiving blood thinning meds even though he pushed for 1 day surgery! Now 4 more days wait for surgery for blood thinners to clear blood before safe surgery can be done! I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.
