Sydney Robinson, CRNP

Sydney Robinson, CRNP is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a background in both outpatient and hospital -based care. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, and eating disorders co-occurring with other psychiatric concerns. Within her daily practice, Sydney brings a holistic, thoughtful, and calm approach to care. She is known for her thorough assessments and values the role of education to help patients and families feel more informed, supported, and actively engaged in the treatment process.

Sydney’s training and experience offers a unique blend from the fields of psychology, neuroscience, and nursing. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rochester with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Shortly after, she worked as a research assistant in cognitive neuroscience at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and as a community residence counselor at McLean hospital …in Boston, MA.

As a second-degree nursing student, Sydney received her BSN from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was awarded a research grant to study the impact of dance on physical and psychological health. She continued to pursue her advanced nursing degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a Masters of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.

Sydney began her nursing career at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she worked as a registered nurse for four years serving children and adolescents with complex medical and psychiatric needs, ages 3-21 years. Most recently, Sydney practiced as a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Nemours Children's Hospital, where she split her time evaluating pediatric patients on the medical-surgical floors, in the ICU, and in the emergency department as part of the consult-liaison team, as well as following patients long-term in the behavioral health outpatient clinic.

In addition to her clinical practice, Sydney teaches part-time at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, serving as a simulation instructor. She is also actively pursuing certification in dance/movement therapy, grounded in the belief that the mind and body are interconnected.

Sydney currently offers in-person appointments in the Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE locations, as well as virtually throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.

Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates is a private practice of Psychiatry with locations in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, on The Main Line, Lehigh Valley, Manhattan (New York City), Wilmington, (Delaware), Southern New Jersey (Collingswood) and Delray Beach, Florida in Palm Beach County. Patients located in these areas can call our main scheduling line, to discuss providers licensed in their area, or to discuss an in-office appointment at their local Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates’ location.

We are a fee-for-service psychiatric practice and do not accept insurance directly. However, many patients can receive reimbursement for the majority of our fees, by submitting to their insurance company.
