Dr. Syed Irfan Ali, MD

I've known Dr Syed Ali for a VERY long time. He is EXCELLENT in every aspect. Very good in psychiatry medicine AND a very very compassionate man. He got me through a very difficult time in my life. I trusted him when I didn't really trust myself. Make an appointment to see him or his wife Fatima. Take the first step and you will feel better. A wonderful human being!

My experience with Dr. Syed was excellent. He was an excellent listener, encourager, and very empathetic to what I was going through with a difficult divorce and 2 daughters who were struggling with additions. I am so blessed to have found him!

I have been a patient of Dr. Syed Ali for 6 years. Prior to that I have experienced several other "highly recommended" psychiatrists for over 10 years. Dr. Ali lacks compassion and empathy. He has the poorest listening skills of any professional I have every encountered, asking the same questions numerous times and seemingly more interested in entering information on his keyboard than paying attention to me, the patient. He had a diagnosis in mind shortly after I sat down and seems to have a "black and white" approach, one in which he doesn't entertain feedback from the patient but relies on his preconceived opinion of what the issues are.

Dr. Syed Ali is one of the best psychiatrists in the Chicago land area. He is personable, very knowledgeable and attentive to his patients. Consider your self blessed when you have a chance to meet with him or his wife Fatima. They are a dynamic team and open to honest communication. I especially enjoy their therapy dog nugget. She can sense your anxiety and is a calming influence in the therapy sessions. What a wonderful addition to their team.

I was/am so helped by Dr. Syed..I came in in a REALLY dark place and feeling hopeless. I had a hard time in the beginning trusting him but continued to follow his advice and wishin weeks was feeling more like myself and less anxious/depressed. I still have a lot to work through but now am feeling like I can actually try to tackle some of the overwhelming thing before . I definitely recommend Dr. Syed. Depression/anxiety is a horrible thing but the right medication can be extremely helpful!
