Dr. Syed Ahmed Athar, MD

Dr. Athar is a very caring, compassionate doctor who is very concerned about his patients. He takes his time to answer questions and talk to family members.

Dr. Athar was alerted to my situation and took appropriate action to provide me with an emplaced stint in my LAD once heart cath revealed significant blockage. The only suggestion I would have is that when telling loved ones of the significance of the procedure and the reasons it was required that Dr. Athar consider the impact of those findings on them, and present the cause and results in a less direct fashion, i.e.; "...if we hadn't done this, based on my experience, he wouldn't have had more than 2-3 weeks to live." Which, while it may be true, is more direct than most people are prepared to absorb.

Good medical care. I am doing fine now. Would use Dr. Athar again if he was in this area.

I would recommend Dr. Athar in a heart beat. He listens to his patients and explains so everyone can understand. His bedside manners are outstanding. I am sad that he is leaving..

Dr Athar was friendly, knowledgeable, and had good bed side manner. He listened to my concerns. He educated me on my medical problems and I had a good experience. I would recommend.

He is the worst DR that I have ever been to. He never asked about my blood sugars or what I was eating. You wait 45 minutes in the waiting room and then only talk to him for 3 minutes. I would advise the board to look into him.
