Dr. Syed Shehzad Azmi, MD

My wife and I attended the first visit for her mother’s cancer. We were not impressed by the doctor or the staff. It was very apparent that Dr. Azmi had not even looked at any of her in file prior to walking in the door. Kept asking questions, generic and unrelated, to stall as he scanned through the chart for the first time. My wife and I asked him specific questions about the type of cancer she had and journal articles she read. It was apparent that he had not been keeping up on the latest research and seemed to want to just go down a generic route. A quote from him, “Age is the highest risk factor for cancer.” REALLY?! Most of the latest research points to the standard American diet being the highest risk factor. Our guess is that Baptist is more motivated by profit from drug manufacturers rather that real cures. Get a second opinion from another system or a private practice oncologist.
