Dr. Syed Zafar Hasnain, MD

He started screaming at me when I tried to ask a question about my mother's care. He misbehaved and threatened to call the security on me gfor asking a simple question. He mentioned that he was at the ICU like that makes it ok for him to misbehave with everyone. The staff arranged the appointment for us amd he made us wait almost 2 hours for an appointment that was completely unessesary to begin with. For something who has lived in the country for 30 years ( his own words). He has no manners and professionalism to deal with patients or their care givers.

Dr. Hasnain has the WORST bedside manners I have ever seen in a doctor. I can't even begin to comprehend how he has been practicing this entire time with that lack of respect for his patient's family members. It's completely INHUMANE!! As he is delivering the bad news to the family, he REFUSES to hear the family's concern or any questions/suggestions for any possible additional treatment for the patient. Immediately, he shuts everyone up by raising his voice and saying he is a doctor and has been for the past 30 years and questioning whether the family members are doctors themselves, as if saying he knows best and the family knows nothing! We couldn't ask a question or make a suggestion. Then he SCOLDS the patient's mother by saying, "If the patient were....., then this wouldn't have happened!" Now come on, who adds salt to the wound in a situation like this, especially coming from a physician who we were seeking all the help we can get. Nobody needs a lesson on you should've,… would've, could've. That's not his place!! He needs to be stopped! If he doesn't know how to have respect for the family's concerns during their beloved's end of life situation, then he needs to stay in his office and practice medicine there! Such a cold-hearted physician with the worst bed side manners! He needs to be stopped! He, too, will be in this situation one day!!

Terribly Disappointed that this was the Dr we Received at Memorial West Katy Hospital. Dr Hasnani did not communicate with nurses on my Husbands care and needs. Requests for medication lagged. When we had the opportunity to meet in the hospital with the Dr. he was rushed and did not give us an opportunity to give a full history. Instead of listening to history he immediately jumped to the conclusion that my husband was diabetic when he heard he saw a and Endocrinologist instead of waiting for the real reason. On the second day of hospitalization Dr. Hasnain spent a less than two minuets with my husband and left mid discussion of his TSH instead of sharing the room with the specialist. He did not return to discuss his finding and did nothing to address his TSH or further discuss my husbands hospitalization. One test was ordered and not interpreted within a reasonable amount of time so a specialist was going to order the scan again...waits of time and our money, When the specialist… had a diagnosis and plan he was fine with my husband taking a pharmacological solution to resolve the problem and we discussed at great length the pro's and con's of staying for observation or releasing that day and came to the conclusion that release would be fine. Dr Hasnain then placed order for my husband to be admitted as an impatient. These orders came faster than any orders for relief for treatment of any ailment that my husband suffered while in observation for the time prior. We asked that he come in and talk to us and the best he would do was a phone consult. We had a difficult time understanding him due to a bad phone connection and his thick accent. The fact that he would not come and talk to us after spending less than two minutes that day was frustrating as we still had question about the TSH, we were looking for a rational medical reason length of time for hospitalization and all we could understand was at least another 24 hours which would take him until 5:30 on Saturday evening. As we could not get Dr Hasnain to see us on a Friday afternoon we had no reasonable expectation that he would attend to my husband on a Saturday evening. Subsequently, we had discussed treatment with the Specialist that treated my husband and had a diagnostic plan and exit plan from the hospital. We decided with no confidence in Dr. Hasnain that we would leave the Hospital against Dr. orders because the Dr could not be bothered to communicate or include his patient in his own care. Perhaps that is what he learned in Medical School...if so we can look farther for a provider and a hospital. Will not be going back to Methodist if this is the level of provider that they offer. They should vet better for the sake of their patients.

He was very polite and very helpful with the diagnosis and explaining every process very efficiently to me as well as my family. I would recommend him not only for his manner but he has severel board certifications, making him trustworthy when it comes the medicine and treatment involved. Excellent Doctor overall.

Absolutely HORRIFIC doctor....doesn't take any care of patient in LTAC at Kindred Town and Country....met him once and he never looked at my dad while he was in the room....staff said he came by once a week, yet he charged the insurance $285.00 per visit...at 21 visits....CRAP....I wouldn't take my dog to this sorry excuse for a doctor...because of him and the SLP who wasn't yet a credentialed SLP...my dad almost died due to starvation....NO FOOD. WATER or ICE CHIPS! Stay away from this man!

Got my appointment canceled the day before my follow up visit after my stroke,worse even denied my prescription refill, plain English told me to find another doctor or die, just cose no insurance but willing to pay for visit

Non-responsive to family's requests for information. Non-communicative of patient's status and treatment to family. Multiple violations of patient confidentiality by discussing patient status in public areas of hospital. Rude bedside manner. Far better suited for a research environment than for patient contact.

Very unresponsive to patient and family. No sensitivity when talking with patient and family. Unwilling to work with other professionals towards best goal/outcome. Disrespect towards women.
