'm writing this nine years late, but my experience with Dr. Sylvia Hillmann still sticks with me. During our last visit, she told me she had to give me her 'spiel' about vaccines in her firm German accent. She claimed vaccines don’t contain aluminum—which is easily disproven by the inserts. When I asked about ingredients, she admitted she didn’t know because 'they’re always changing.' That felt concerning coming from a medical provider.She also mentioned that some vaccines could cause paralysis — but said it could be reversed. A friend’s child was paralyzed by the polio vaccine years ago and sadly, he’s still paralyzed. She also mentioned that SIDS risk increases during certain months — which we later realized lined up with the vaccine schedule. That gave us serious pause.We ultimately decided to part ways and switched to a holistic provider. All six of my kids are happy, healthy, and five out of six are poke-free. Trust your instincts — ask questions and make informed decisions.
