Dr. Taegyun Kim, MD

Dr. Taegyun Kim tried to scam me and my insurance company. He drew my blood for tests that I requested, and then he ran other tests on my blood without my knowledge or consent. Those tests were not fully covered by my insurance, so I had to pay over a hundred dollars for tests that I didn't even want. Furthermore, he tried to scam me into paying more than my co-pay (by tacking on "fees" that were "different from co-pay"). I kept telling the receptionist that I wouldn't pay unless I received an EOB from my insurance company, but she kept saying that the payment was "different from co-pay" and "wasn't covered by insurance." When I tried to get on a three-way call with the receptionist and an insurance agent, the receptionist immediately started ignoring all my calls. This doctor made me feel violated. He tried to scam me, and he also cost me over a hundred dollars in unauthorized, useless blood tests. He is a terrible doctor and a terrible person for taking advantage of people he is… supposed to help.

Today was my first visit to Dr. Taegyun Kimâ??s Office. I was there for about 15 minutes in total and was compelled to write this review. I am sure he has his merits as a doctor, but my experience was very unpleasant: 1. I have a condition called Pectus Excavatum. I asked if there was anything I could do to achieve a more normal looking chest (I had done some research on my own so I knew basic chest anatomy.) Dr. Kim claimed there were other muscles in the chest other than the pectorallis major and minor and told me I should work out those â??otherâ?? muscles. To save you from doing the research: Those are the only two muscles that comprise the chest. When I told him I believed there were only two muscles he told me I was wrong and refused to look it up with me. 2. He asked if there was anything else wrong. I told him I have a herniated disk. He told me I was wrong and that, at the age of 23, It is very unlikely I have a herniated disk. He treated me as if I had no idea what I was… talking about then reluctantly proceeded to lift each of my legs once in the air and tell me Iâ??m fine. I received an MRI a couple months back confirming I have a herniated disk. 3. I politely asked him for my money back for the visit ($100), as I didnâ??t feel it right that I should pay for something he obviously knew nothing about. He told me it was already too late because he had examined me and threatened to call the cops if I didnâ??t leave. Maybe heâ??s a great doctor and I just caught him on an off day. If you are already a patient there and are satisfied with the level of service, I encourage you to keep going. I just felt the need to post my experience in case the opposite is true.
