Dr. Tage Elizabeth Born, MD

I had worked occasionally with Dr. Born's mother who is a fine and accomplished registered nurse. Tage, however, displayed none of her mother's professionalism or compassion. My husband and I were thrilled and excitedly anticipating my first appointment and ultrasound. Dr. Born did not acknowlege my husband and barely greeted me. She abruptly stated that although the ultrasound showed no abnormalities, this was a high-risk pregnancy. She insisted on performing an amneocentesis to find any anamolies so that the pregnancy could be terminated. She became irritated when I questioned her, and it became clear my baby and I would not be receiving adequate care from her. I immediately found a much more competent and compassionate provider and eventually delivered a beautiful, healthy baby girl. Dr. Born's beligerance during that one appointment caused a heightened degree of anxiety throughout the pregnancy. I do not recommend Dr. Tabe Born.

After years of infertility, my husband and I finally became pregnant via IVF in another state. We moved to Aberdeen when I was 6 weeks pregnant. I saw Dr. Born and it was the worst experience in my life. She was not compassionate at all. I was put on a blood thinner by my fertility specialist. Dr. Born wanted me to come off of it immediately. I was told not to come off of it until I was 38 weeks pregnant. I explained to her my history of miscarriages and infertility and told her I did not feel comfortable coming off the blood thinner until I was into my third trimester. She was rude and told me I needed to come off of it immediately. My infertility doctor even called to say that it was safe for me to continue taking it. She disagreed and told me she would talk to the infertility doctor in Sioux Falls. At my next appointment two weeks later, she again told me to stop immediately. Again, I said I wasn’t comfortable and I was only 8 weeks along. She said the doctor in Sioux Falls agreed… for me to stop. I told her no. She then proceeded to get down in my face and said, “Do you live in town?” Confused, I said that I did. She then said, “Okay, so when you start hemorrhaging you can get to the hospital immediately. We might be able to stop your bleeding but we won’t be able to save the fetus.” I was livid. It was a false statement. I am a well-3;$,/53; individual and know her statement was completely inaccurate and inappropriate. The dose I was on was not something that could cause that. In fact, it kept me from having a miscarriage due to blood clotting. I immediately switched to a provider at a different clinic who agreed that I should stay on the blood thinner. I delivered my daughter at just over 39 weeks and had a healthy pregnancy. I would not recommend Dr. Born for any type of care.

You had better have your questions ready, for Dr Born doesn't spend much time with you as a patient.

I have been doctoring with Dr. Born. She displays professionalism and genuine knowledge with my medical needs. I would recommend her with the highest confidence with the knowledge that a physican would embrace.
