Dr. Tai Fung Yang, MD

Has anyone had a bad experience with this pediatrician?

This man was my birth doctor and has never failed to diagnose me and treat my symptoms properly. He was the only Doctor that figured out that I had meningitis back in 2008. If any sort of lab work or test needed to be done, if the hospital saw it was from him, it would be expedited. Wonderful every time I go and I will be so devastated when I have to find a new doctor.

Dr. Yang is wonderful. Sometimes you have to wait a bit, but it's because he's so thorough. He's great with kids, is knowledgeable about everything, and makes everyone comfortable. He explains things very well, too. He's so good, my college-aged son continues to see him because we trust only him.

Dr Yang is one of the best Pediatric doctors I know. He is not only knowledgeable, caring and experienced, he is more committed than any Dr I know. You will be very lucky if you are able to get into his practice.

My girls love Dr. Yang. Yes sometimes there is a wait. He takes the time to answer EVERY question. So if you have an hours worth of questions, he will sit with you. If the person before you had an hours worth of questions than yes you will be waiting. This is explained at your first visit and if it is an issue you can find a new dr. But he is so worth the wait. Some other times there is no wait (recently I was in and out with vaccines and everything in 25 min) The office is always courteous, kind, and professional. They answer all questions. I have even had him call me back on a Saturday when I had an infant question.

I had a newborn checkup and was told to reschedule in 3. days . 3 days later had the same checkup and had to pay $25 copay and wait close to 2 hours for basically nothing. At the first appointment Dr. Yang said there was some skin beneath my baby's tongue that made it hard for him to breastfeed without biting. I had sore nipples that were bleeding a bit. He come over to get a closer look at my nipples as he told me to go ahead and breastfeed while he did the checkup. I expected that he would do something about the skin under his tongue (cut it) at the 2nd appointment (since he told me he would look at it at the second appointment and he had said that it was such an easy procedure) but he didn't and when I asked him about it he seemed upset (he also forgot that he had the problem with the skin under the tongue) and told me he was double booked and didn't have time (after I had waited for nearly 2 hours he was the one who seemed upset). Then I was told to rescheule in a week. I… thought to myself, what for , to get a babysitter for my other children, pay the babysitter and pay a 25 copay and wait in waiting area for 2 hours for checkup number 3 that was no different than the first two checkups, no thank you.

Dr. Yang is extremely caring and has been wonderful for us and our child. My daughter has been a patient with Dr. Yang since she was an infant and he has always showen her the utmost of care and understanding as well as myself! He is always willing to answer questions and he explains evreything so that I can understand. My daughter loves going there, even when she doesn't feel well.

He was there the morning our baby was born checked him over from head to toe. He does not like to perscribe unessesary medicine...But he is excellent in his care and diagnosis is accurate. Have had him for 10 years would not go to anyone else unless he referred me to someone for a special problem...and he has referred me to a few specialist...

Strongly recommend against this doctor. To make a long story short... After the first three weeks of our daughter being born, she started vomiting frequently after feedings. He told us she had acid reflux. By the fifth week, and after multiple visits to Dr. Yang and trying his quick-fix solutions (thicken food, different food, etc), her health was deteriorating as she only gained 4oz. We wanted her admitted into the hospital. Dr. Yang sent us to Wuesthoff They handled our situation horribly, so we demanded a transfer to a Children's Hospital. They were great. They were able to assess her problem to being a severe case of acid reflux and prescribed Prevacid. This is something Dr. Yang could've prescribed (since his non-medicine attempts didn't work), but instead put our daughters health at great risk. I later found out he does not believe in using medication with babies. And to top it off, he had the nerve to tell my wife that we were over-reacting! Use somebody else!!!
