Dr Tal Ben Hazan

Nice guy, but HORRIBLE experience. They never asked for a face-to-face or phone visit before a colonoscopy—it was all online. Only after I filled out all their forms online, spent two days uncomfortably preparing for the procedure, drove 45 miles to show up, went through two personal screenings with clerks, and was put on the prep table in a surgical gown with an IV in my hand did an actual medical person come in and say their pre-op procedures were incomplete and inadequate so they could not do the colonoscopy. When I later asked for a refund for the prep materials they sold me, they declined, basically saying, "Too bad, so sad." In short, their pre-op instructions were incomplete and wrong; nothing about the problem that prevented the procedure was in the "Special Notes" or "Getting Started" sections of their prep materials; and they evidently felt like it would be a waste of time to ask me to do a face-to-face or phone prep visit, they nonetheless did not think it was important… to do the right thing.

I was very pleased with the service both prior to and during my office visit with this practice. The appointment staff got me booked very quickly and my waiting room time was less than 5-minutes. Once back with the nurse assistant I was seen by the doctor within 5-minutes. Despite it being the first time we that we met he knew the key details from my medical history and the concerns that brought me in. He spent the time with me that was needed, and I felt comfortable having him perform my procedures. Michelle at checkout was also very helpful in having my other procedures booked and making sure I understood the information. I would highly recommend Dr. Tal Hazan and the team at Gastroenterology Associates of SW Florida.

I have confidence in dr. Hazan's expertise and advice, but still don't know what is causing blood traces in stool sample. Have had this problem for a couple of years, and after 6 colonoscopies, the last two without polyps, my previous Dr. in California recommended that I do not have another one. Dr. Hazan left colonoscopy decision up to me, but said, given my age (81), I should weigh risks versus rewards. I have no symptoms of colon cancer so decided to skip another colonoscopy. Problem remains undiagnosed. Not a negative against Dr. Hazan, but I'd prefer knowing what's causing blood traces in stool sample.

Dr Hazan is the most kind, gentle, and understanding.

Very smart, excellent professional. He took the time to listen to me, analyze and make the best option for my health care. I feel very safe in his hands, after HaShem. The Malajim of the Most High always accompanies him.
