He completed his Psychiatry residency from Nassau University Medical Center, New York., where he received comprehensive psychiatry training, with experience in Adult, Child, Geriatric, Addiction, Forensic, Consultation and Emergency Psychiatry. He pursued additional training in ECT and Consult Liaison as elective rotations at North Shore LIJ Hospital and attended training by Cornell University Medical Center NYC in CBT for psychosis. During his residency he was elected Chief Resident and was a member of the Hospital Bioethics Committee.
He then received a fellowship in Addiction psychiatry from Yale University School of Medicine, Connecticut. Here he had extensive …experience with evidence-based and system-based practice of different aspects of addiction psychiatry including; Outpatient Substance Abuse treatment, Inpatient Detoxification, Methadone and Buprenorphine clinics, Dual Diagnosis, Smoking Cessation, Day Treatment programs, and Consult and Liaison service. During his fellowship he also received Motivational Interviewing training and Acupuncture Addiction Protocol training.
