Dr. Talat Tayyaba, MD

Dr Tayyaba saw my son for several years and was great with him. We did leave but only to go to a Dr closer to our home. She is a great Dr and helped during our transition as well to our new Dr.

I worked for this company for 6 months. There were very unethical business practices such as intentionally withholding prescriptions for "difficult" patients in order to make them wait longer. They withheld pay when due and changed pay rates without notification. The doctor would call her patients that supported trump, blue lives matter, or firearms "white supremacists" after providing care to them. She also told me that "even a Caucasian girl in her program was expelled due to underperformance" as a way of admonishing me by insinuating that I can't hide behind my skin color forever kind of thing (I am Mexican/German). There is a high emphasis on politics, color, and religion in the office. She frequently talks poorly about the clients after they leave and assumes every client is there for Adderall or benzos. There is a lot of nepotism within the office. The manager is family and can get away with poor business practices such as treating women like they are beneath him, actually tries… snapping his fingers (not figuratively) to get what he wants, holding meetings in the waiting room area, or walking around the office barefoot. Their response to his poor behavior is that's just the way he is so deal with it. There is a lot of disorganization, gas lighting, and selectivity when it comes to who they will give what as far as medications depending on personal opinions of the individual. This is not a place I would go to for a provider.

If I could give 0 stars I would. If you’re looking for a professional psychiatrists office, skip here! For the last few months I had become so frustrated working for this lady I don’t even know where to start. Out of my 22 years in the workforce and healthcare, I’ve never seen a provider behave in such a way that she has. The final straw is when I was told by a coworker (the receptionist) that Dr Tayyaba told her to “pick a fight” with me and record it with her phone because she wanted to see how I would react?! What?! Seriously? What kind of person stoops this low? This woman is so petty. I’d had enough and shut down completely from her and all the office staff. At that point it wasn’t worth having conversations with anyone there. Grown women behaving like teenagers. As if working in mental health front office isn’t stressful enough, the last thing someone needs is the psychiatrist being the bully and influencing her staff to pick a fight with you. But I should have known better back… in May when I first started what kind of person I was dealing with. I knew in my heart she was the common denominator. Perfect example- there was a new patient who’d come in to be seen. After the patient finished her session, she returned to the waiting area to complete consent forms she was not able to before being seen. Dr. Tayyaba walk up to the reception area and begins to talk about the patient and sharing details of what was talked about in the session. Little did she know the patient was still in the waiting room and heard EVERYTHING the doctor said about her. After Dr. Tayyaba walked away the patient came to the window at the desk with tears in her eyes saying to let her know she heard everything and that she will not be returning. The receptionist told Dr. Tayyaba the patient heard her. She responded by saying “oh no, I’ll call her”. She called the patient to try and fix things and claimed the patient said she will still come to her follow up appt. The patient never came back for another appointment. I don’t blame her. Between all these things happening and a more in which will be named at a later time, this is what anyone who is looking for a psychiatrist has to look forward to and any future employees.

I brought my daughter (now 17yrs) to Dr. Tayyaba at the Flower Mound location beginning at the age of 12 when she expressed a desire to die. She was a happy go lucky kid and one morning before school she just blurted out that she wanted to die. Her last visit was when she was 15 and we visited Dr. Tayyaba at the Richardson location and she cried on the drive home saying, “she doesn’t believe me”. At this point my daughter was very depressed, continued to have thoughts of wanting to die, and was also experiencing a lot of headaches. Thus she spent nearly all of her time in bed. Dr. Tayyaba asked my daughter what she wanted to be when she grew up. My daughter said a Dr., possibly a Radiologist (she was just giving an answer she knew the Dr wanted to hear...she had no hope or future plans). Dr. Tayyaba then tried to reason with my daughter asking her how was she going to be a Dr if she wasn’t getting to school regularly. She concluded that depression wasn’t the diagnosis, instead it was… a “behavior problem”. You could have asked anyone off the street and they could have told you my daughter was severely depressed. This is just 1 of many examples used in Dr. Tayyaba’s blame game. She was trying to reason my daughter out of her depression. I wish it could have worked, but of course it didn’t. I’ll fast forward 2 years...she is now under the care of a different (amazing) Psychiatrist who has her on 40mg Prozac and talks with her for 45 min every 6 weeks. My daughter no longer wants to die. Rather, she laughs a lot and goes rock climbing with her friends and chats with them as much as possible (in other words healthy teen behavior). She’s homeschooling and even learning to drive. This last year she completed 1.5 years of schooling in 1 year so she can get caught up. She still suffers from headaches, but when the headache is over she moves on enjoying life. Learn from me!

She doesn’t listen and lectures you about her views on what’s wrong with your entire lifestyle, including religion.

Dr Tayyaba cares about spending time and making sure all issues are addressed and taken care of. Great bedside manner

I have had a lot of difficulty trying to get the Dr. To return my phone calls. Very disappointing

Great doctor. I would recommend to family and friends.

I took my son last month and the Dr. Spent 1 hour and 30 minutes with him. She spoke with him in detail and asked him specific questions. Yes, she prescribed him medication but that it was Psychiatrists do. She did recommend we follow up with weekly counseling for him and we have done that as well. She was never cold or unresponsive. She was firm with my son which in return he respected her more. She did prescribe him medication. I was very hesitant because I do not like to medicate. However, I waited a week and decided his behavior was affecting his life in a negative way. He has been taking the medication for almost 3 weeks now and he is a different child. Doing well in school, making friends and participating in activities. The last psychiatrist we went to only spent 10 minutes with my son and did not ask him any questions. I am very pleased and my point of contact for follow up I the medication would be my sons pediatrician because he knows my son best.

Dr. Tayyaba requires visits every 3 months; they are superficial and she does love to prescribe drugs. Then after our fourth visit the nurse whisked my 17 year old out of the office for a drug test. At the next visit three months later she gave the results to my minor child, not me, and now we have a bill for over $500 out of pocket. I do not recommend her but if you go, stay with your child, question everything, and don't be walked over. I'm chalking it up to an expensive lesson..
