Not at all comfortable first visit , little to no communication, never spoke to my face , like she’s entirely preoccupied

I have been treated by Dr Mahmood for about 8 years. She has treated me for CLL and has been wonderful. Very caring and the office staff from the front desk to the chemo nurses have been top of the line to say the least.

I had a carcinoid tumor in my lungs. I was very anxious and afraid. Her kind and quiet manner was very helpful to me. Her expertise and concern for my entire well being was greatly appreciated and needed. I can't say enough good about her treatment and quiet and kind manner. I could ask her anything and she took the time to answer and meet my needs. Great Doctor. :)

I'm very happy with the treatment I've received from Dr. Mahmood. She is very concerned about my well being as a patient. She is thorough and communicates very well. The regimen she prescribed for me worked very well. I would highly recommend her.

40 minute wait for doctor after I was in room. When she came in had laptop and cell phone, Phone rang and she answered it. Could tell it was not an emergency and she kept on the phone ignoring me. After a minute or two I walked out.

Well, where to begin? Had I known the level of professionalism of this "doctor" when I began a prolonged aggressive cancer Chemo Therapy treatment program, I would have run away and never looked back. But like most things in life, hindsight is 20/20. There are so many minor details that go unnoticed while enduring treatment that one cannot know until one has gone through the process. And by the time the patient gets all of the necessary information about their particular condition, that this oncologist deems important, it's too late. Pulling teeth is easier than obtaining pertinent information from this doctor. I always got the impression that she was going out of her way to utter anything related to my care. Trying to be as objective as possible with this doctor was difficult, as her diagnosis kept changing, and the entire time during our "personal" doctor/patient 10 minute meetings, she never looked up from her computer screen, constantly typing. It was as though I wasn't even… present, just one more number/test result. To be honest, my overall impression is that this doctor's patient care is lacking, and I'm glad to have moved on to a different oncologist, and that difference is like night and day. For what it's worth, get a second opinion before opting to use Mahmood, you'll thank yourself that you did.

Dr. Mahmood is a cold, uncaring doctor. She gave us the diagnosis of liver cancer but, after I got a copy of my mother's medical records, the truth is that it is pancreatic cancer. She NEVER told us that. In addition, in her notes she wrote: "The family seemed upset that there was not a plan, but that was the best I could do." Unbelievable! She also wrote that one of our visits lasted 60 minutes--untrue. We saw her for 20 minutes, during which she spent 15 minutes reading my mother's file. We are now seeking out a new oncologist and Mahmood is resisting giving us a referral. It's ironic that the voicemail for their office talks about how they care about their patients. Mahmood should listen to that message.

The certificates on the wall describe Dr. Mahmood's level of education and experience, which is impressive. However when my mother and I asked questions to learn more about my mother's diagnosis, we received mostly one-word answers and blank stares. The doctor seems to feel that the patient should already know so many things which are in fact quite confusing to the cancer patient. What exactly does chemotherapy consist of? What do all these words on my blood test printout mean? Is a blood transfusion an outpatient procedure? People are not born knowing the answers to these things. The doctor seems to feel that each word coming out of her mouth is worth millions, and if she gives out more than one or two she will risk becoming impoverished. When the doctor suggested we seek a second opinion, we were quite relieved to be free of her, and hope to not return.

I have a chronic health condition that requires I receive active treatment about once a year. Dr. Mahmood has provided me with decent care. My condition was diagnosed before I became a patient at this practice, so I don't have any issues with accurate diagnosis. I don't dislike Dr. Mahmood at all. She is somewhat reserved and that doesn't bother me as long as I receive good care. My real issue with this office is the way the office staff treats the patients. When someone has a known, previously diagnosed, chronic health condition, why are they forced to come in and see the physician before lab tests can even be ordered? It is a needless waste of appointment time to have those types of patients come in so that lab work can be ordered for them--simply so that they can come back a few weeks later and be told that they still have that chronic condition?! Quite a few of the front staff members I've spoken to on the phone have been extremely rude. I would also prefer that I be allowed to… have my lab work done at a lab of my choice--not at their actual office (since it is a longer drive than the lab I normally use). They try to set up lab appointments 6 months in advance, but then tell you that if that time doesn't work, you can do a walk-in. Heaven help you if you forget a blood draw appointment they have set up 6 months prior (even if it only happens one time and you call the next day), because you may not be able to set up another appointment to be seen there again. The treatment they provide is decent, but I'm looking for another provider's office because of the attitude of the office overall.

Dr. Mamood should choose another profession. When I first met her, I perceived her to be stand-offish and somewhat cold. She did not greet me with even so much as a "hello" or "good afternoon" -- she just proceeded to talk about what she read in my file. I decided (against my better judgement) to give her a chance to get to know me and vice versa; hoping things would change--they never did. Dr. Mahmood's bedside manner is nonexistent. She has no plan of care she discusses, and I found her to have given me subpar treatment in general.
