Tam was assigned as my primary at the Vera Whole health at my work. Little did I know that I would be embarking on one of the most difficult and frustrating journeys of my life. Tam is really one of the worst medical professionals I’ve ever dealt with. Full stop. I’ve gotten so much misinformation and bad advice from him, it’s almost too much to bear. He’s also extremely insensitive and has a very poor ‘bedside manner’. He doesn’t really know how to talk to people. For example, I was struggling with insomnia for about a month last fall. It was one of the worst experiences of my life and I was really struggling. I had a visit with him during that time and he told me I was lucky, since if he were in my shoes and had insomnia, he’d be able to stay up all night and play video games. Seriously? He also tried to attribute my insomnia to ‘one of my enemies trying to poison me’ which is just one of the most outlandish things I’ve ever heard in my life. More recently he told me that I could… transfer my allergy shots from my allergist office to his office, and there would be no requirement to wait in the office for 20 minutes after getting the shot (my allergist started making us wait for 20 minutes after getting allergy shots). So I went through the process of transitioning from my allergist office and had the shots sent to the Vera at my work. Then I found out from the nurse at Vera who’d be administering my shots that I would in fact have to wait in the office after getting the shots. And it wouldn’t just be for 20 minutes, it would be for 30. And I would have to go through a mini physical before hand that takes 15 minutes every time. When I confronted Tam about it he just got silent and said ‘oh’. No apologies, no ‘I’m sorry I had no idea’. So now I’m kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place because I have no easy way of getting the shots back to my allergist office. Do yourself a favor and just avoid Tam at all costs. You will be saving yourself so much trouble and frustration. Just go see a real doctor.
