Doctor Mathias is amazing! She listens! She cares! She is super nice! And very smart :)

Best doctor ever!

Provides life alternating and damaging medications as well as diagnoses without, admittedly, talking to the patient regularly (a child) and can be swayed by stories fed to her by parent. Doctors need to learn to admit that they are not a good fit and direct families to another option.

If you need help, look elsewhere!! I couldn't be more dissatisfied with the care (or lack thereof) that I received from Dr. Matthias and her fellow staff at Sterling Institute. Was bringing my children to see her and her co-worker so that they could provide guidance and medication management. She was running late for our appt and even though I was sitting there in the waiting room (over 40 min) she opted to take the customer scheduled for the appt. AFTER us. When I was upset by this (understandably) she was dismissive. She explained that its very possible that she could run late so I needed to be prepared to wait.. and when I suggested that perhaps I should look for another provider for my children she pretty much agreed that would be best!!! Why would you want to see someone like that for medical/psychological care! There are plenty of other, qualified doctors out there... this is one to avoid.

Dr. Mathias wanted to diagnose my child with ADHD on the basis of one short interview and 5 rating scales from teachers and parents, and then to put him on medication. The rating scales did not indicated ADHD, and in fact, clearly indicated that my son likely has a different diagnosis that there is no pharma intervention for, which means that she could not continue to oversee him and bill us. When I questioned her at length on the reason she wanted to label him with ADHD when the scales did not remotely indicate elevated endorsements for that diagnosis, she would only offer that it was worth a try. My child is not a guinea pig, and meds that are not appropriate for the problem are dangerous. I was so fortunate to have knowledge of these scales and to know better than to allow her to medicate my child for something he does not have just to line her pockets. Steer clear.
