Dr. Tamara Ann Powell, MD

Dr. Powell has provided excellent care to both my wife and I. She comes highly recommended.

Dr. Powell acts like she is the only doctor in the world and thinks she can treat people like trash. She is condesending and arrogant. She hates her job and lets patients know it. I will not see her again.

My experience with Tamara Powell was awful. She showed no warmth or care through out my pregnancy, labor or delivery. She had told me in one of the prenatal appointments that husbands are worthless supports, yet I paid her to be my support and she did not provide me with the services I paid her for. She did not answer my questions at my prenatal appointments. It was obvious she was rushing through them as quickly as possible. She told me not to call her when I went into labor. When she finally arrived at the hospital she did not communicate to me anything that she was going to have done to my body. Without any warning she had the nurses jump on my belly and force my baby out! I tore like no mother should. And afterwards she sewed me up with out any communication. I had a right to know what was going on and she neglected to explain anything. Then after I had the baby she told me not to call her. No kidding! She basically told me to lose her number. Yet she wanted to be my baby's doctor.… Oh no! After the neglect and abuse I had experienced, she was not going to be my baby's doctor or mine any longer. I would not recommend Tamara Powell to anyone. When I called Mountainview Family Clinic and told the office that I would no longer be seeing doctor Powell and explained why, the staff told me they had heard similar experiences. I wish I had known this! This is the reason why I am giving this review. You deserve to know what kind of doctor Tamara Powell is. You deserve the opportunity to receive professional care. There are good doctors in Grants Pass and you do not have to reluctantly settle for one you do not like.

IF they care, they sure don't show it! IF they are knowledgable, it's not evident. Not much choice in Grants Pass. It's very disconcerting.

Dr. Powell is an excellent practioner. Very thorough, knowledgeable, with excellent follow up.

I fell on a metal stair corner on my knee. She brushed it off as being nothing. I asked for an x-ray. She said no, was not needed. I saw a doctor years later that said my knee was really messed up and I should have had decent care for it when it happened. She is not good.

Dr. Powell has been my physician for over ten years. Because I'm very healthy I basically only see her for an annual exam. During these appointments she has been quite aloof and unfriendly, and seems completely uninterested in listening to anything I have to say. Most recently (finally resulting in my change to a new doctor) she refused to perform a preventative test, citing age-related statistical guidelines, even though there have been previous problems. If it was her health she was playing the odds with, that would be fine, but not mine.

Only doctor with whom I could get an appointment as a new patient. That is the only plus. This doctor seems like it's an effort for her to go to work. Doesn't spend much or show much concern. I'm sure she's not a bad person, but she really should pay attention to these reviews as they are wholly accurate. She has no bedside manner and doesn't seem overly well informed. Nor the staff. Definitely would not recommend.
