Dr. Tamara Ann Scerpella, MD

I was excited to have an in-depth follow up appointment months out from my surgery. That did not happen. She gave me 5 minutes of her time and was so rude the entire time. Every concern I had she brushed off. Never apologized for being an hour late. Her bedside manner is horrible! You don’t mock and talk down to your patients. I was told to go with Doctor Baer from many friends and I wish I would have listened to them. If you can have a different surgeon I’d recommend it.

Dr. Scerpella is one of the best doctors I've ever been to! She's smart, kind, and really wants to do what's best for her patients. I'm a medically complex patient, and she never gave up on me or tried to take the easy way out. And because of her, my functionality has been greatly improved. She truly cares about her patients and treats them as whole people--with issues and lives outside of the part of the body she is going to treat.

I'm a complicated medical case and Dr. Scerpella has spent over a year and a half to help me walk again, using a variety of techniques. She makes difficult decisions, but they turn out to be the correct decision, even if they patient doesn't like it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone. The only issue is that she tends to run late for her appointments because she takes the time she needs to with patients, rather than the time UW Health says she allowed. For this, I don't mind waiting. She once spend over 1 1/2 hours with me because it what what I needed (luckily, I was the last appointment of the day.) She is so knowledgeable and caring--you won't regret seeing her.
