Dr. Tamu Tayari Brown, MD

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Tamu Brown. Despite waiting three weeks for my appointment, she spent less than 10 minutes with me and dismissed my concerns without conducting any medical tests or asking follow-up questions. She quickly deemed my condition “not a medical problem” without offering any explanation or exploring potential causes. Her refusal to listen or take my concerns seriously left me feeling dismissed and invalidated. A doctor’s role is to investigate and provide clarity, but Dr. Brown’s approach felt rushed and dismissive. I would not recommend her to anyone seeking a thorough or thoughtful evaluation.

I also wish I had read these reviews prior to making an appt with Tamu Brown. I agree that she is insensitive and dismissive. My appt was also rushed & was given a basic diagnosis. I will go for a second opinion

I wish I had read these reviews prior to making an appt with Tamu Brown. She is definitely insensitive and dismissive. My appt was rushed & was given false diagnosis. I do NOT have traction alopecia & luckily went to Dr. Sonya Bellamy for a second opinion who took her time to perform a biopsy & offer options unlike Tamu rude behind. It’s so unfortunate being a POC & experiencing an AA physician with poor bedside manner.

Dr. Brown and her team were very kind and thorough. Great experience from start to finish.

Really horrible and inconsiderate doctor. Spent about 5 min with me and had no interest in answering my questions. Attire was inappropriate and unprofessional.

This doctor is the worst. She is condescending and does not listen to her patients issue. She told me I didnt have a problem, when I keep trying to show her. She kept saying she doesn't see a problem and maybe you should see a plastic surgeon. I am trying to keep a problem from getting worst and you tell me to see a Plastic Surgeon.

Dr. Tamu Brown is the most unhelpful, uncaring, unprofessional doctor I have ever been to. She literally told me she could not help me with a simple rash because I had already taken medicine for it that was prescribed by my GP. This made no sense since the rash was not responding to the current medication, which was the reason I was there. I asked if I could at least have something for the itching and she said no that there was nothing she could do. She offered no help, no advice, no knowledge, no options, no solution. The visit was a complete waste of my time and money. I can't discourage you enough from seeing this doctor. Other doctors in this practice are very good. I'm shocked they have someone like this in the practice.

Visited her for a spot check, and asked her if it could be a particular condition I read about with valid reasoning, and she laughed and her assistant joined along while condescendingly telling me there is no way. I visited a different physician two weeks later and after receiving an order for an imaging test, the condition I suspected was the exact diagnosis the radiologist provided independent of my concern. The type of professionalism displayed is appalling and incredulous. I expected someone who went to UPenn for medical school and training at Einstein to have an exceptional level of medical expertise and behavior, but both were proven otherwise.

The only reason I’m giving her one star is so I can write a review. She is very cold and abrasive. She is arrogant and has no compassion. My normal dr. at this practice didn’t have any openings, so I scheduled one with Dr. Brown. She is the rudest person. I needed an injection for cystic acne and she refused. Her reasoning was “do no harm” and she stated that I would just have to wait it out bc I had recently had an Injection in the same spot. It’s New Years and I will be staying home. She wasn’t even nice about her refusal. Maybe she doesn’t realize how acne affects a person’s self esteem. Maybe she needs a career change. Please do not go to her. You are wasting your time!!!!!
