Dr. Tamzin Amadeus Rosenwasser, MD

Dr. Rosenwasser is one of the few physicians I have visited who: 1) Refuses to be swayed by pharmaceutical advertisements 2) Refuses to perform medically unnecessary tests and procedures 3) Takes time outside the office to follow-up and provide consulingOn two separate occasions I've sought Dr. Rosenwasser's expertise for skin tags and moles that I found bothersome. Both times I had to admit that my sole complaint was that they were ugly and I'd seen an ad on TV that described how they might be treated. Both times she told me that there was no medical reason to remove the tags/moles and her simple advice was "if they're ugly, don't look at them." On my second visit I confided that my youngest son was extremely ill with what doctors in his rural community thought was mono. Dr. Rosenwasser gave me her personal cell phone number and told me to call her with any questions. I called her once not sure what type of response I would get. She spent 30 minutes on the phone with me… explaining in great detail the meaning behind the series of blood work taken on my son. This was 29 minutes longer than the attending physician took to explain the results. She asked me to follow-up with her each day until his vital signs improved. All told, we spent over 2 hours on the phone reviewing lab reports. While she was obviously not in a position to treat my son, she provided background knowledge and prepared me to ask specific questions regarding the course of treatment. She gave me the confidence to actively participate in my son's course of therapy rather than stand passively by while the attending physician ignored specific warning signs in the blood work. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Rosenwasser as will be my son.
