Dr. Tan Duc Tran, MD

I think Dr. Tran is actually a good doctor, However, I have been a patient for about 4 years and when I recently called about an anoscopy I was told I could not get in because I had missed "too many appointments." When I asked when these were I was told I missed my annual checkin for a few years and had rescheduled. Each time they don't give you any reminders by phone, text or email and exepect you to reminder. It's also really difficult to get into the doctor in general and you generally have to wait months. So I have moved to another doctor who has an office with better staff and processes!

If I could give a negative, I would. If your issue is easy, that may be another story. However, my son has had fatty liver disease since he was a teen. From the time he was 26 or so, his bilirubin levels were always higher than normal. No other liver enzymes were off. No real direction given except watch his diet and no drinking. When he was 31, he drank more often than usual as he was not working and depressed, (during covid time) but was not dependent on it. Dr. labeled him an alcoholic, and the doctor wrote in his chart cirrhosis with NO FURTHER TESTING other than one scan that showed mild scarring. No biopsy. When my son complained about stomach pain that kept him up at night, abnormal stools, yellow in his eyes, the blood work from the pcp showed high bilirubin, but also other elevated liver enzymes as well as a few other abnormal results, yet Tran didn't even look further. The doc did an endoscopy and colonoscopy which showed very little. AGAIN no referral to an actual… specialist, no biopsy, nothing. He died weeks later at 33. Death certificate cause of death stated "fatty liver change", and coroner report said chronic portal inflammation" but NO mention of cirrhosis. DO NOT SEE Tran FOR LIVER ISSUES, and if you do, demand a referral to a hepatologist!

Tran has no heart for his patients. He only sees $ signs. My son was told by 2 other doctors that he (my son) was neglected by Tran. Their exact words were, patient neglect. Total neglect.

Dr. Tran's skillful diagnosis and treatment of residual stones in my bile duct has been a lifesaver. I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Tran was an amazing doctor along with an amazing staff. I was referred to him by my friend and called to make an appointment on Wednesday, and informed his nurse of my pain and bleeding. She squeezed me in to be seen that afternoon. I was a few minutes late, and was so worried. I called back and said I was stuck in some traffic and was 15 minutes late. His calming nurses voice said it was ok and not to worry. I had a wait of less than five minutes. Dr. Tran has a very caring approach and takes everything you tell him seriously. Based on my multiple issues and bleeding significantly and vomiting my food. He suggested a colonoscopy and endoscopy. His nurse moved appointments around and got me in on Friday for the procedures. He completed the procedure at Manteca doctors hospital. The staff were amazing, and extremely efficient. The hospital called me the day before and registered me, and all! Walking in knowing what to expect was such a relief. The hospital was absolutely amazingly… clean from top to bottom. They had all new equipment from computers to the actual equipment for the procedure. I am very sensitive to customer service, and cleanliness. I give them all 5 stars!!!!!
