Dr. Tanja Rae Scherm, MD

I just had my third appointment with Dr. Scherm; Dr. Scherm is a great care provider. I have struggled to find a care provider who makes me feel safe and listened to, and Dr. Scherm does both. I’m really glad I found her.

Dr. Scherm is kind, knowledgeable physician and she really takes the time to listen, understand, and explain her recommendations and thought. It’s so refreshing! The start was taken off for having to wait 1-1/2 to see her. I was there at the end of the day, but maybe fewer patients per hour would be an option.

THIS DOCTOR NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE -- and so does for having WHASN A DOCTOR LIKE THIS represent their ORGANIZATION This was one of the most upsetting and frightening experiences I have ever had with a doctor. Dr. Tanja SCHERM performed a test on my uterine lining. When the results came back, she called me and told me to come to the Clinic immediately! During the appointment, she started talking that I have cancer and immediately gave me names of doctors who perform hysterectomies and that I need to have my uterus surgically removed. I was Shocked!!! because upon meeting her I knew she didn't have much knowledge. What makes this even more disturbing is that she knew I was working with an IVF doctor and was still trying to get pregnant. She knew how important fertility was to me, yet she presented the situation in a way that made me believe that forsure I have cancer and that I was going to need my uterus removed. She even told me she was sorry, shook my hand, and made the entire… situation extremely dramatic. I left her office crying, terrified, and completely confused. I didn't even know whether I should tell my husband. Before doing anything, I decided to read the pathology REPORT myself!! I took the time to understand it, with the help of medical information, and I realized that the report did NOT say that I had cancer. To be sure, I went to 2 other doctors for second opinions. Both of them told me, essentially, “What?? This is NOT cancer! This ISN'T even pre-cancer". They explained that the condition could be treated with progesterone and monitored, with follow-up to make sure the uterine lining becomes thinner. simple that all!!!!! I was shocked by the difference between what I had been led to believe at the first appointment and what 2 other doctors explained to me after reviewing the report. I had also asked this doctor several times about hormone testing, but my requests were never properly addressed. (from reading her review I understand that she doing this all the time, because of money - any test she send the insurance lower her money). Also when I asked questions I felt that I was not receiving knowledgeable answers. (Thanks GOD that I understand in medical) This left me seriously questioning me the LEVEL of medical care and attention I was receiving. I am extremely grateful that I did not simply accept what I was told and immediately agree to a hysterectomy. I got second opinions, read my own report, and advocated for myself. I feel sorry for women who may not have the medical knowledge to read and understand their own reports or to get a second opinion. I can only imagine what kind of DAMAGE this doctor could cause to me or other women. ADr. Tanja SCHERM was not honest, and was more concerned about money than about my well-being. WARNING — STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!!! And of this experience, I personally do not feel comfortable seeing another doctor affiliated with WHASN. In my opinion, this doctor does not represent the level of care and professionalism I expect from a medical organization, and I am very disappointed that employs and allows this kind of experience to happen to a patient.

Dr Scherm is the best. I appreciate her great communication and caring demeanor. She always takes time to listen to me and keep me informed.

Really impressed with Dr. Scherm. I was in and out in under an hour. The MA checking me in was very thorough as was Dr. Scherm. She didn’t seem in a rush to get out of the room like many do. I will definitely come back.

Dr.scherm was great I seen her since Dr.Royal was out for the week and she indeed take good care of me gave me the right things to know and over all was great and patient!

Dr. Scherm has helped me navigate and better understand my medical conditions. She's given me great, empathetic care. Highly recommend.

Dr. Scherm is a breath of fresh air here in Vegas. I’ve been here for 17 years and finally have an OB that is very genuine and I can connect with. She is very caring and shows the utmost care for her patients. I am so lucky to have her as my doctor.
