Dr. Tanya Shivani Kumaria, MD

Dr Kumaria treated my mom at St Margaret’s Hospital. On Feb. 13, 2025 she told my father and I that she stopped my mom’s meds & was going to slowly decrease her oxygen because she would not survive the night due to very LBP. She asked what funeral home we would use and instructed us to call and alert them that my mom would be in the “hospital morgue” She then asked if we wanted an autopsy. My mom was sleeping beside us during this conversation. I repeatedly asked if there was ANYTHING she could give my mom to raise her BP and she repeatedly told me there was nothing that would raise her BP. Today is July 2, 2025 and my mom is alive and holding her own thanks to a dear friend (who is a surgeon) who called the hospital that night and reached a Dr who administered diuretics to raise my moms BP and ultimately saved her life. I share this hoping no other family has to experience heartache like we did because of Dr Kumaria’s decisions and lack of empathy with questions she was… asking.
