Dr. Tanya Marie Rutledge, MD

Like other reviews have said; Dr. Rutledge is clearly qualified on paper, but when having a follow-up about my condition after my procedure, she was rushed, seemed unconcerned with all my symptoms, and offered me little to no advice. When it comes to their office; heed the warnings about wait times, not picking up the phone etc. The last straw for me was them completely ghosting me on my own tele health appointment. I called multiple times before the app. When I got through, I was told that they would text me 5min before with a link, and then call me to confirm. I waited 10min…then 20…then 30. I kept trying to contact them but they wouldn’t pick up. I left them a message and they have yet to get back to me. Complete waste of time.

I was pretty wow by her credentials and education. Unfortunately, there are many things that Medical School will not teach you. I would start out by communications. I was having extreme upper right abdominal pain and basically told me that I was suffering from IBS and to take some over the counter Miralax. I could have saved myself a lot of money and I could have googled that information. Basically no test to speak off. As the condition and pain progressed into a medical emergency. I was found to have a nonfunctioning gallbladder. This has to be one of the most incompetent doctors out there.

She seems caring however when you question her, she gets irritated and almost defensive. I don't think she is well versed in my GI issue and instead of saying that, told me to schedule yet another unnecessary procedure.

Dr Rutledge did not listen to anything I had to say despite photos and previous doctor documentation. She seemed to be in a hurry, and not interested in answering my questions. I had such hopes of finally finding an answer to my GI issues. Not! I would not recommend her! The staff however was very nice. She could learn some bedside manner from them! ??

No bedside manner, poorly run office, and you can forget getting on the schedule for an acute issue. The last time my GP told me to follow up with my gastroenterologist, I called and left a message and was contacted FOUR BUSINESS DAYS later...even though the recorded message promised a same day response as long as a message was left before 3 PM. I left my message at 10 AM on a Friday morning and didn't hear back until the following Wednesday afternoon. What's the point of having a specialist if they're not available when you need them?

I have seen this doctor before (3) times andI thought very nice and professional. I went for a follow up and another concern which one of my doctors requested to have checked.Waited more than 3 weeks and once there I had to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes.I was feeling worse and called my husband before I went in any patients room to ride with him or follow me.After waiting more than 20 minutes (in the patients room)my husband called right before Dr Rutledge came in-she came in and said I will be back-I had to hang up on my husband-I said no I have waited for 1hr and 45 minutes it was now almost 6pm-The treatment was one of my worse experience and having several diseases (seriouos)I have seen several through 51 years.After seeing me I was told I would get two prescriptions. I waited for 20 minutes and heard laughing and talkingI came out of my room and was told they would be with me in minute-I believe I was the only patient left but the time was around 6:30-not only were the nurses… talking but the doctor was also there involved in the communications going on.This was the worse experience I have ever had with any doctor and with all my diseases it has been 51 years.I will never go to this practice again.If you enjoy waiting and listening to doctor's and their staff laugh and talk while you are waiting this is the doctor for you.

YOU COULDN'T FIND A BETTER HUMAN BEING

I was diagnosed with hepatitis B, and my last lab test was to see if I was a chronic carrier. The doctor never bothered to contact me and let me know it was positive, endangering the health of myself, my family, and the general population. I found out TWO YEARS later after numerous calls to retrieve my medical history for insurance purposes.

Dr. Rutledge and her office are the most attentive and caring people I have ever experienced in this setting. Her receptionist..her rn..wonderful. Big smiles. Dr. Rutledge took the time to answer all my questions, with eye contact and general concern. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a highly knowledgeable and sincerly caring gastroenterologist. ***** five stars!
