Dr. Tara Singh Mangat, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Mangat for several years. He is very attentive and professional. He is always willing to listen to my concerns and willing to give me valuable advice when I ask for it.

Dr. Mangat was able to diagnose 2 out of 3 disorders presented. When I mentioned ADHD he said, ‘no” which was understandable considering he had only just met me. He did not show respect towards me, which I quickly realized was probably due to our cultural differences. I accept differences as long as I get what I need. Dr. Mangat figures out appropriate medications and considers them absolute. He’s a good doctor to go to if you want psychiatric medications. It would be best to know what you need from former doctors. I would continue to go to him in order to get prescriptions. I do believe one needs to know what is needed. If you get it, then you can thank him for being so helpful. He likes that.

PLEASE don't go here, you won't get actual care. This is the type of doctor that will talk to you for 5 minutes max, write you your scripts and say goodbye. Never takes time to actually listen. Doesn't take time to actually diagnose you, just wants to give you drugs and make you leave. When my mom moved out of state, she had 2 refills left on her prescriptions, she called his office to have him call them into a pharmacy near her and he REFUSED, saying he doesn't accept her new insurance. That's absolute crap because how she pays for her prescription from him has NOTHING to do with what insurance his office accepts. She could pay cash for her prescriptions for all he knows. He did this because he knows that she moved away, so he can no longer get money from her from office visits, so he simply shuts her off...disregarding the fact that she is now out of her important depression and other mental health medication. Please save yourself from dealing with this guy. You deserve much better.

Recently switched insurances so now it is all by mail order. All members of my family doctor's called the insurance company and called in prescriptions and set up all refills for present and future. Dr. Mangat and the receptionist refused to call the number to call in my medications, exclaimed that I must provide them with a paper mail order. I called the insurance company and asked if Psychiatrist were not allowed to call in, and they said ALL doctors can. Other than no one wanting to help, don't plan anything important a few hours after your apt. Even if your apt is at 9:15 and it opens at 9 in the morning, expect to wait at LEAST 15 minutes before being called. Spent 30 minutes waiting for my 9:15 apt, yes I understand doctors offices run late but usually someone will say sorry for the wait or act like they care. And today Dr. Mangat asked me for my first and last name while writing which was also concerning because I am his client.

I have attempted suicide 3 times under dr Mangat's care, but he would still continue either increase my dose, abruptly change or add additional meds. He can not seem to properly diagnose me. He does not try to "listen" to what's going on before prescribing or increasing my dose. When I first met him I was on 1 antidepressant, and then 5 years later I was taking 5-6 meds, including 2 antipsychotics and now have severe tremors and incontinence. And my issues are more severe now compared to when I met him. It almost cost me my life 3 times, my husband, and loosing my kids. This doctor is very dangerous the way he just "freely" hands out medications like he's giving out "candy". He has ruined 5 years of my life that I can no longer get back. Pleasant stay away from this psychiatrist!

After seeing many psychs, Dr. Mangat has been the best help so far.

I've been to many doctors and Dr Mangat is exceptional. He is compassionate, caring, great diagnostician, and aware of what's new on the medical front.He saved my life during what could have been a suicidal time in my depression. He was perceptive to pick up on my feelings, when even I wasn't sure.I cannot recommend him highly enough. His staff are very compassionate and go out of their way to assure you are taken care of.

This guy could not diagnose my father correctly.
