Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:My decision to become a nurse was solidified at the age of 12 when my mother died of a heart attack. She was a nurse and I wanted to follow in her footsteps. I became a registered nurse and then a nurse practitioner in the hopes I would be able to care for others and make a difference in their health/life.What I want my patients to know about me:I love getting to know my patients to gain a rapport with them. This not only leads to a trusting patient-provider relationship, but I feel it helps with overall health and improvement in outcomes.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:In my spare time I like to read mystery/detective novels. I have 2 dogs that are full of energy and enjoy taking walks or playing fetch. I love to travel so I can see/experience new things. Also, I love going out to dinner and trying different foods/restaurants.
