Dr. Tara Shapiro, DO, FAAEM

Tara Shapiro, MD, FAAEM, is a board certified and fellowship trained Palliative Care and Hospice physician at Hematology and Oncology in Nyack, NY. She received her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine with honors. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at New York Hospital- Cornell Medical Center and her Osteopathic Internship at New York Methodist Hospital Campus. She completed her Residency in Emergency Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.After years of experience as an Emergency Department physician, Dr. Shapiro completed a Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Care at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and has since been providing care to patients at Montefiore Medical Center where she is the site director for palliative and support care consult services at the Weiler Hospital site. She is a member of the American Academy of Hospital and Palliative Medicine, a fellow of the American …Academy of Emergency Medicine and has been published in various medical journals.
