we are new to kaiser. we went to a neurologist at healthcare partners who just gave my mom a "diagnosis". we were just given a dementia medicine but no idea what to expect. we decided to change to kaiser. we were referred to the geriatric clinic by our new internist and told we had to attend a class. we spoke to nurse liz on the phone and she told us what to expect. at the class, we met dr. browne, who my family actually had an appointment with! my family really liked her humor and how she made us feel comfortable coming to her appointment. at the appointment , her nurse melissa actually found us in the large waiting room (which was a little overwhelming for my mom who has bad outbursts) and brought us to their side waiting area. our appointment was about 2 hours. dr. browne recognized us from the class and my mom really liked her. we learned a lot about the disease that day and now we are applying for IHSS for help since I work. dr. browne even called me a few weeks later to follow up… on her new medication that is helping with the outbursts. finally my mom has what she needs, i pay a lot extra for this insurance but satisfied.
