Dr. Tarak M Vasavada, MD

Head of psychiatry at Huntsville Hospital? This Dr is disconnected from even basic practice. I have been inpatient off and on for over two decades with him at the helm. The last time I left art group in tears and went to my bed. I had been tasked with a simple needlepoint bookmark and was profoundly disturbed by not being able to process the instructions. The doctor entered my room with 2 interns and demanded that I return to the group or leave. He could have taken the opportunity to provide me AND the interns with insights and ways to cope with the territory. Instead,I left in a highly agitated state. The two interns were both red faced. In hindsight, six years later + 3 more hospitalizations I get insights into the handicaps of my chronic severe treatment resistant depression. This man is arrogant, apathetic, and percieves himself as a caste above the profession.

Dr. Vasavada was very thorough and I feel confident that I can trust his expertise.

Wonderful doctor. Smart and caring with no hidden agendas. Willing to accept me as a partner in my care.
