Dr. Taraneh Mostaghasi, MD

I would give ZERO stars if I could. This is a long review, so I'll give you the tl;dr up front: This is the worst doctor of any sort we have had the misfortune of seeing. She should not be practicing medicine. Choose literally anyone else to see your children. If you are forced to see her for whatever reason, record your visit so you have evidence to support you when you decide to file a complaint because she will lie about, well, everything (and yes, I can prove she is a liar). Go to Diablo Valley Pediatric medical Group instead. The office is cleaner, the staff is nicer, and the doctors more caring and knowledgeable. ----- Where do start? Let me count her failures: 1. Mostaghasi does not respect patient confidentiality. She will violate your child's HPPA privacy rights by discussing your child with her husband (yes, I can prove this). We are filing a formal complaint with the Attorney General and the Office of Civil Right's over this violation. 2. Mostaghasi is woefully ignorant… on a host of medical question and issues. Whether it relates to gastroenterology, vaccines, nutrition, or whatever else, she displays nothing resembling the knowledge you would expect of someone who graduated medical school. Then I realized that there are many doctors who barely graduate and, well, there you go, you get doctors like her. If you spend an hour researching your child's medical issues online, you'll know more than her. 3. Mostaghasi gives substandard care. She does the absolute bare minimum necessary each visit. You can tell the difference when you go to other pediatricians in the area. She had no bedside manner. Her attitude is terrible and whatever passes for a personality is one of dismissiveness and haughty ignorance (yes, i just called her arrogant and stupid). She does not tell you what she sees as she's going about her very minimal examination, possibly because she doesn't quite know herself. You're left wondering why you bothered to bring your child to such a horrible office and you're needing to see another doctor anyways. The final straw was when my daughter was very sick and she kept saying on the phone to come back in 15 days if she was still feeling sick. If we had listened to her, my child may have died! 4. Having reviewed my child's medical records with her notes, I am left wondering if Mostaghasi is partially deaf or if English is her second language. She literally wrote the opposite of what was stated in several instances. She does not appear to have listened to anything we said. She also patently lied about several things regarding our interaction with her and her "treatment" of our child. I believe she retroactively changes her records after the fact to cover her butt. 5. Speaking of medical records. Mostaghasi initially refused to release my child's medical records to us, the child's parents. I don't know if she is used to running over people who aren't conversant with their HPPA rights but unfortunately for her, I am quite knowledgeable. I had to inform her staff about my rights, point her staff to the relevant page on the HHS website so they could be educated about it. Only then did she relent and finally release the records to me, as is my right as parent and guardian. I will be adding this violation of my rights to the complaint I file with the Attorney General and the Office of Civil Right's. 6. And, finally, speaking of Mostaghasi's staff. They are not friendly, they always seem bothered and act as if they are doing you a favor when you call for anything. You can tell a lot about a leader by their staff, and Mostaghasi's staff's terrible attitude is an indictment of her as a doctor and a person. Her office is also the bare minimum one expects from a doctor's facility. The rooms are dark with no windows and minimal ventilation. IN SUMMARY: DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS "DOCTOR."

Today I took my daughter to Taraneh Mostaghasi, her Medi-Cal appointed doctor who refused to see her because we do not believe in immunization. When I asked for that in writing the doctor refused. So I pulled out my phone and video taped her refusing and she called the police on me. I waited for the police and explained the situation and they said I committed no crime. This doctors personal/political opinion means more to her than her Hippocratic oath. Discriminating and refusing a child medical care? This is not a private practice doctor. She is a Medi-Cal doctor and should not be allowed to discriminate or refuse a child care. She also acted very unprofessional when I asked for her refusal in writing. I still have the right in America to my beliefs and there is no law that says a child cannot be seen by a doctor that is not immunized.
