Dr. Tarek Kanaa, MD

Worst doctor I have EVER experienced. Refused to listen to feelings, wanted to argue about HIS knowledge. Very condescending. Go to someone else!

Egotistical, controlling, condescending, belittling, and has no idea what he’s doing. He thinks he’s the most intelligent person on the planet and treats patient and staff alike without any sort of respect. He does not have any interest in helping anyone get better; if he did, I wouldn’t still suffer from trauma and nightmares related to his “care”. He is some sort of narcissistic sociopath that delights in causing emotional turmoil for his patients and then acts as though it’s your fault.

Every time I voiced my legitimate concerns and fears Dr.Kanaa responded with a sadistic glee in his eyes and hostility, he threatened to commit me indefinitely because I complained about not feeling safe. Also him and the hospitals he works at have no issue lying on psych evaluations.

Unable to provide sound judgement, confrontational, accusatory, and condescending. Presents as charismatic, but when left alone with youth or parents, he is unbalanced. Warning: For those anticipating ER care for youth behavioral crisis, Kanaa is the pediatric psychiatrist for Norman hospitals. While in duty, he visits with the child patient first, then follow up one on one with the guardian. HIGHLY recommend that you ask the staff doctor to be present while checking in with Kanaa, or follow up in the hallway near nurse staff desk. DO NOT follow-up with him in a private room.

Unprofessional, rude, demanding and difficult to work with. All the staff at all the locations he works at complain about him. He can be charming one minute and an absolute butt head the next (mostly the latter). He gave me COVID because he insisted I come to the office during the height of the pandemic and he had just gotten over it. He prescribes off label with no explanation. He does not listen and treats patients as if they have no intelligence or insight to their condition. All he wants to do is argue. He loves to be in positions of power so he can violate your rights and make you feel like dirt. Stay away at all costs!! He will set back your recovery significantly. When I look in his eyes, I see evil.

There are three type of doctors the ones that know nothing and look up everything, the ones that know everything and seamlessly have a unparalleled knowledge in the field, then we have the third doctor who knows a little but believes that they have this unparalleled knowledge Dr Kanaa falls into this third category. Who's ego and very charismatic nature mask the fact that this doctor is in over his head and with most of his patents has no idea how to diagnose ,but through his charming demeanor has avoided any reprimands that is needed in most of his cases. If you are a employer do not hire this person and if you have the unfortunate experience of being a patient of him know that you are not alone in your negative feelings of him and please speak up
